@MalwareTechBlog @elonmusk Since taking over, engagement is through the roof. What if he knows what he's doing?
He builds online in public. People will make suggestions and he gets to use them for free. And they feel heard and valued, binding them and building loyalty.

Imagine tweeting a picture of a bunch of internal combustion cars stuck in the snow to try to “own” electrics.

@CofRedCentral @NapsAndSarcasm @stuckncalgary That’s a Mastodon instance with some branding, though.

@NapsAndSarcasm @stuckncalgary @CarlBoucherKnee Apparently a site called counter social is picking up steam. I’m keeping an eye on that one

@hyoukaxrox I’m okay with the interface being different. I mean: it’s a different platform, so yeah. I’ve also heard speed is the result of the “instance” you choose and the popular ones are getting crushed.

@yul_native Yeah. This is what I hear a lot. It only seems difficult because it’s different. Someone said “instances” are like email addresses. You can choose gmail or Yahoo (or Hotmail, if you’re my dad), but you can still send and receive email from anyone.

@CarlBoucherKnee I now have a foot here and Mastodon. Pain to get going at first but now that I understand a bit more about the Mas ecosystem, I see spending more time there. Feel more comfortable there saying what I think without getting lots of backlash.
Plus there is an edit feature!

@TKoobaan But isn’t counter just a “branded” Mastodon?

@Cherylmcl57 I lean this way, but am always open to being swayed by a good argument.

@rebelliousDB My brother, I would be a liar if I said I didn’t legitimately consider Tumblr for an hour or so.

@hyoukaxrox I have a bad feeling about Dorsey, though. Like, very-not-good.

@sunlorrie Yes. These people you’ve been championing are violent radicals. Glad to see you come in finally.

@franco_nomics @nationalpost Harper spent that much on just limos alone.

Another big taxpayer story on the front page of today’s @nationalpost
The CTF first discovered that the governor general’s week-long trip cost $1.3 million.
They enjoyed fancy feasts. But what value did taxpayers get?
