Liberty is simple. You own your life. You choose your work, your words, your risks, your peace. A free society runs on consent and exit. Say yes when it serves you, say no without punishment, walk away without a threat at your back. That is the test. Trade, speak, move, refuse. If you need papers to live, you are property. If your choices harm no one, you owe no apology. Choose the life you author. Leave the rest to those who enjoy permission slips.

@Hi_IQ_Trump Negotiated rights of way or public roads avoid this apparent conflict. Emergency cases, like trespass to avoid a natural disaster, may be a defense against prosecution or a basis for asking forgiveness, but do not equal a right to simply cross whenever one believes one needs to.

Genuine rights cannot conflict. Those that appear to are not genuine.

@RockChartrand We foolishly do socialists a favor by using the term "crony capitalism". "Fascist Capitalism" or "Socialist Capitalism" would be more descriptive.

If both are what they say, then cronyism is the inevitable consequence of socialism. You can’t give the state power to “redistribute,” “regulate,” or “manage fairness” without giving it the power to decide who wins and who loses. That’s how cronies are born, through government privilege, not free exchange. Capitalism separates economy from state. Socialism fuses them. So if cronyism is corruption, it’s not a mutation of capitalism, it’s socialism in practice.
