If you play Starfield to "beat it" over and over, then yeah its boring. I know its a video game and all, but its an RPG. You're supposed to get immersed and explore. Starfield is the epitome of a game where you enjoy the journey and not the destination. Following objectives will get stale, but the heart of Starfield lies elsewhere.

@wsdia_vd @Swurv__ There's no point in doing anything badly, especially when youre a AAA studio with an 8 year development. Why make bad "backdrop" stories? Just make good ones, or none at all. They didnt even make a good sandbox if you pretend the stories dont exist. So wtf are you on about?

@Swurv__ Starfield, and really most BGS games, have always felt to me more like games about the stories you as the player make. The stories the game provides are just there as a backdrop, but the true fun comes from how you fill in the gaps.

@nonetosee It’s not an obvious change, that’s a huge out of pocket gamble and a terrible look for the studio and the relationships they build in making film.

I honestly don’t see a proper way to salvage this. Releasing it early on streaming is reactionary and ruins their planned marketing campaign (they’ve undoubtedly already sunk costs into trailers and posters and other ads that are now moot). Releasing it in theaters now that millions have seen it for free becomes incredibly risky. Only a small portion of those people—under 10% I’d wager—will actually head to the theaters to see the film again once the hype of watching a taboo leak dies down. Even if “successful,” the damage is done, and the film will only earn a fraction of what it might have previously. Releasing it as originally planned in October, going through with their advertising campaign (and ignoring the leak altogether), is a surefire way for this to bomb extraordinarily. The film is very easy to find for free, and leaks and spoilers are everywhere. Very few ATLA fans (those not terminally online anyway) will have patience to wait. This will not draw people to Paramount+ 6 months post-leak, and if they’re hedging this franchise as an anchor for people, it’s not enough. The best recourse at this stage, outside of these three options, is to fast-track Seven Havens. Give people a reason to subscribe to your platform for longer than a month.

@ZeldaZealot I mean.... she punches it a few times and says "cmon metal, budge." Yes I like the idea that she only figured it out because of her unique combo of blindness and bending. But otherwise she did make it look very easy.

Alright I knew idiots would bring this up. It might’ve been a bit since we’ve seen the original series so let’s rewatch the scenes together first because it’s genuinely one of the best sequences in the show and shows why bending is one of the best power systems in fiction.
