Quite obviously it was a combination of all those things; Iran's terrorism, nuclear program and murdering of it's own citizens. US/Israel would have been looking for the right time to strike proper, and it so happened to be at the time when Iran was slaughtering it's own citizens. You're morally compromised and are saying anything to defend a murderous regime, who's own people by majority despise them.
