We have communities in Florida whose representatives are approving these mega data centers during meetings while the residents are sit there screaming NO!
This must be STOPPED. 🛑
We do not have the natural resources to support the cooling systems required.

To be clear: I like MAGA conservatives and usually vote for them, but pushing Byron Donalds for Florida governor is a mistake. He's not the right fit. Florida's already deep red—we don't need to take a step back. These northern transplants often bring a rude, pretentious style that clashes with our DeSantis-style conservatism. Donalds might be great for New York or Ohio, but not here. His support for massive AI data centers is reckless. We're talking campuses the size of Central Park in Texas, with some proposals hitting thousands of acres. These facilities can guzzle up to 5 million gallons of water a day for cooling, create toxic runoff, and destroy habitats. In a state already facing drought and fragile ecosystems, that's unacceptable. This isn't Trump's Florida. It's ours. We need a better candidate who'll protect our land and wildlife.🐊💪🏻

Today in Lakeland, I signed legislation to protect our citizens and communities from hyperscale data centers.
SB 484:
✔️ Ensures that local governments maintain the authority to reject data center development in their communities
✔️ Prevents data center costs from being passed on to consumers, including electricity costs
✔️ Protects Florida’s water resources from data center consumption
These are much-needed protections for taxpayers and our natural resources.
