Zohran Mamdani’s SAT score was revealed last summer after the Democratic socialist was sharply criticized for listing himself as African American on his application to Columbia University.
Mamdani received a 2140 out of 2400 on the test, which was on the lower end of the median scores for admitted students but likely above the median for black students, independent journalist Christopher Rufo reported.
The Uganda-born Mamdani got hammered by critics after the bombshell revelation that he listed that he was both “Asian” and “Black/African American” when applying to Columbia University, where his father, Mahmood Mamdani, is a professor.

I talk to as many military aged men as I can when I am in Taiwan. Queue jokes.
I talk to every taxi driver that wants to chat.
I ask the same thing everytime. From 2015 to now, every year when I go to Taiwan.
Is Taiwan going to war? Do you want to fight for Independence?
No one ever says yes.
Usually it is something like "da se me da? what are we fighting for? What freedoms do they lack that we have?"
The most memorable moment is when a taxi driver started blasting the music saying that all his favorite songs are from The Mainland, hinting that he saw Taiwan ROC and China PRC as One China.
This would have been around 2021 after flight restrictions were lifted from covid19.

Isn’t it interesting they are curtailing the entry of foreign journalists but they are encouraging foreign people to come and see.
It’s almost as if they have nothing to hide from ordinary ppl without agendas, even in enormous numbers. A reminder these travelers can say what they want and their cameras are always on.
Who is giving you a more undistorted view of China as it is?
Of course it is my hope that journalism normalizes again in China. But the building of trust has to be w two-way street. The barring of western journalist is a symptom of the underlying conflict between China and the west. China regrets the situation more than the west, but will not willingly lay itself open to be smeared in the name of journalism.

You may not like to hear this, but there is a correlation between improving views of China globally and Beijing’s expulsion and harassment of foreign journalists. The Chinese Communist Party has successfully shaped the portrayal of China globally, by severely restricting journalists ability to analyze and report on the country. The result? Higher favoribility ratings of Xi Jinping and China than Trump and the United States, and growing favoribility rates of China in the United States. I don’t see how that can be the case with the Americans acting erratically all over the map. But even if it were committed to the defense of Taiwan the ability to fight in China’s front yard is highly in doubt. Since Taiwan was never a colony it’s used to more autonomy and it will work for the mainland to grant us that autonomy as long as we come to a negotiated settlement. Taiwan can either be the free-est Chinese province with a deal or the least free Chinese province after a war.

@jojjeols Det är minst sagt intressant men det gäller inte endast Volvo Cars utan även Volvo Trucks och Volvo Penta. Jag hamnade för ett antal år sedan i en diskussion med ett antal högt uppsatta inom just Volvo Penta om deras affärer med Kina och fick då motargumentet "men USA då".

"You got fat" isn't meant to be mean, it's just a neutral observation.
"You look like a fat pig" isn't mean either, it's an objective assessment.
"I broke up because you are too fat" isn't mean, it's honest.
Asians who live in the West tend to get a bit chunkier. Not medically overweight, but still "disgustingly fat" for Asian standards.
Many Western Asian girls dread going back to Asia for vacation due to the shaming.
But due to the pressure, they force themselves to lose weight, and become much prettier and more confident in their skin.
And they realize that the system just works.
