UNC Fans- Do you think Coach Malone has only 1 commitment, Neo Avdalas, due to being intentional or missing on targets? #GoHeels🐏

@jimbo6ft10 These days, the academic support for athletics would be working w Registrar to get things done once a student-athlete withdraws (or just leaves campus).

As someone who works in college administration, let me say this about Henri situation: there’s no way an instructor would know first. If he got to the point of withdrawing from UNC, we’d already have official media statement.

@heelsdynasty Not playing next year pushes his NBA contract back at least a year and probably takes a year off the back of his pro career. That's part of the equation for many of these players.

Matt Norlander reports that Dylan Mingo could be redshirting next year after suffering yet another injury in March. It’s starting to make sense why Michael Malone decided to let Mingo walk.

Norlander talks about Dylan Mingo via CBS Sports’ most recent livestream: “I was told he actually got hurt again in March. He’s been hurt for a long time… they were going to probably redshirt him next season.”

@bogavacburner We don't know how that meeting went. Is it possible that Mingo came in with expectations that we did not want to meet?

For the record, I trust Michael Malone and i’m not trashing him But i’m starting to wonder, did he let Mingo go without a plan? Or without knowing exactly who we’d get?

I’m still very confident I’m Terrance Brown coming to UNC. I’m also 50/50 on Juke. I think you have to land 1 of those. If you miss on both the offseason will get interesting.

NEW: The FBI and Federal prosecutors in New York say they've charged Sean Pildes, the leader of "SantaCon" an annual charity fundraiser in NYC, with allegedly pocketing a significant amount of the proceeds himself. Pildes was arrested this morning and charged with wire fraud.

Nobody likes to lose but I saw some “ green shoots tonight “. On offense, Lindor had two hits including a home run. Bichette got a double hitting it to left field as opposed to recently being right field prone. Benge got a solid hit. Soto started his running progression today. Semien hit a shot that might have been a home run on a warmer night. Finally, Nolan McLean pitched an outstanding game going 7 innings. Hang in there fans, we will turn this around !

Scott Wiener, a 6'7" tall California state senator running to succeed Nancy Pelosi in the House, is out with a new ad called "The Giraffe" and, well, I just think you need to watch it for yourself...

@WilliamMcCall_ Seems like they've got a plan. The market is fluid and it is probably best to think of it like a poker game.

Probably no news tonight so let’s do a pulse check. How’s everyone feeling so far with Malone and his staff and what they got going on?

@MarkCHealey It seemed like there were some really good ABs early - let's get back to that. Soto being out has to change the approach that opposing pitchers are taking. Are the hitters adapting? It has to be a factor.

Watching last night's #Mets game, I came to a few conclusions: I don't believe Carlos Mendoza will be fired anytime soon. If he were, it would reflect poorly on David Stearns' strategy, spanning from the end of last season to the Mets' current situation. I don't anticipate this happening. While a change is possible, I doubt that Kai Correa or Gilbert Gomez stepping in would significantly alter the team's trajectory at this point. Carlos Beltrán is a potential name, but I find it unlikely the Mets would make that kind of mid-season move, especially with his impending Hall of Fame induction. The primary problem is the offense. Interestingly, there has been silence from the usual critics regarding the Director of Hitting (a ridiculous title), Jeff Albert, who was hired to "oversee the team's entire offensive program," and his assistant, Troy Snitker. Whatever this duo is implementing isn't working. Perhaps this is the reason for the JD Martinez move? Maybe the intensified reliance on analytics for the hitting philosophy was a misstep? Those questions might infuriate the people who "trust the process," but the results don't lie. Terrible at-bats, no deep counts, and an entire lineup that seems overmatched every game. Despite this frustration and current losing streak, it is simply too early in the season for me to think that Staerns will consider a drastic measure like firing the manager, who just a few months ago survived his purge of the coaching staff. See you all later tonight.

@MarkAGunnels Don’t think the Nike thing will be an issue unless Self makes it one.. Flagg was a New Balance guy at Duke and Jeremiah Smith is an Adidas guy at Ohio State..

If Kansas was a Nike school, this would've done a while ago in my opinion. The fact they're still in it despite being adidas tells me Tyran Stokes really wants to be in Lawrence. However, the Nike thing could do the Jayhawks in. We'll see.

@WilliamMcCall_ Stay. Based on the draft projections he can do as well if not better with NIL. Malone can help him develop. Nothing wrong with exploring the options. He didn't make a quick decision last year.
