Michelangelo’s Pietà, located in St. Peter’s Basilica, captures the moment when Jesus, taken down from the cross, is given to his mother Mary For God so loved the world that he gave his one & only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life John 3:16

@NYCMayor You forgot to mention the part where Jesus knowingly suffered and died for all of us. Christ. Is. King.

Today, on Good Friday, we mark a day of sacrifice. Some New Yorkers will abstain from eating; others will spend hours without speaking. Faith, the Bible tells us, is belief in the things unseen. That belief is what will guide so many of our neighbors in solemn reflection and reverence. I wish all those observing Good Friday a blessed day of peace.

Wishing a blessed Palm Sunday to Christians across NYC. In italy, while palm branches are used, olive branches are more common in many parts of the country, as they are more readily available and symbolize peace. Wishing all a peaceful start to the most Holy Week. 🙏✝️

If @FDNY Chief Savings Officer Lizette Christoff has initiatives that she is able to pull funding from, I hope she's telling @NYCMayor that it’s going towards fixing issues like this in our firehouses ⬇️ @UFANYC @UFOA854

I would like @dsny and @NYCMayor to tell me why my neighbors are getting harassed if their compost pail isn’t out but people who run open streets (which really means close the street to cars and pretend that we’re doing something) can just leave the garbage everywhere.

Yesterday the @NYC_DOT 🤥 Associate Deputy Commissioner, Sean Quinn of the Office of Livable Street testified regarding obstacles to life safety on Montague Street in Brooklyn that were brought to our attention by the local firehouse. “In our designs specifically making sure that nothing is in with the 30 feet coverage on Montague St.specifically, it didn't meet the definition of a major transportation project so it wasn't submitted through the portal. However, we did an on site with the local house and have moved all of the barricades away indicated or issues post implementation. So we were out there with them working to make sure that anything that may not have been within that 30 foot, if anything shifted or moved, we've since moved it and had that on the ground coordination." FDNY FF Forsyth from that same local firehouse testified that all of the obstacles hindering emergency response and blocking fire hydrants remained in place and they were never consulted.

On Wednesday, February 25th at 10am, as Chair of the Committee on Fire and Emergency Management, I will be hosting a hearing on Local Law 6 of 2025 that requires the New York City Department of transportation to consult with the local affected firehouses before implementing street projects. The law has been on affect for over a year and we are about to find out if it is being followed. You can register to testify in person or via zoom using the link below: council.nyc.gov/testify/

Same for the 34th Ave Open Street. Barricades remain up for the 5 plazas along the avenue. There are NOT emergency routes. Just so dangerous Just so dangerous @SpeakerMenin @JoannAriola32 @PInserillo @NYCAccessforAll @berrystalliance
Berry St. Alliance 🏳️🕊️@berrystalliance

When private groups (i.e. BIDS, non-profits, volunteer coalitions, etc.) or @NYC_DOT partners fail to shovel the streets they close like #openstreets Berry St, should they be fined?

@Shebbie4nyc @NYCMayor It doesn’t make sense. And I’m hoping it was just an oversight. There is no reason we can’t be remote and if children need to go in to pick up meals, they can.

Hey @NYCWater - we've been asking you guys to fix this water main break at Myrtle Ave and Forest Park Drive in Glendale since Jan. 16. It's become a skating rink several times now, thanks to the freezing temperatures, and people are getting hurt. Can somebody explain why this has gone unrepaired for over a month? Because this is completely ridiculous
