My one question is: was this a rule when Ohtani was an angel? If so I’ve got no issue with it
Foul Territory@FoulTerritoryTV
Craig Counsell doesn’t appear to be a fan of the rule where two-way players aren't counted against the 13-pitcher roster limit: “And then there’s one team that’s allowed to carry basically one of both, and that he gets special consideration. Which is probably the most bizarre rule. ... For one team.” (Via: @AP)
English

@RickJBrody @FoulTerritoryTV To be clear: it started years ago when he was on the Anaheim Angels nearly 5 years ago.
English

@FoulTerritoryTV I think it's hard to argue with this. I don't know what the answer is, but the Dodgers are offered every exception: Counting him as hitter or pitcher, that he's allowed to stay in as DH after being removed as a pitcher, extra time to throw warmup pitches. It's a bit much!

@FoulTerritoryTV He wouldn’t be saying that if Ohtani was on his team. Cry more.

@ThorTorrens @gofishh77 Attacking the boy. Lol, come on. Also, it’s just a stupid bird but don’t be an idiot.
English

@gofishh77 Couple filming us Sounds like a Karen rage baiting us without context
If the pelican was attacking the boy trying to get their fish the father obviously did the right thing
Humans are more important than birds

@betsbehavingya @YipStrickler @BarstoolClassic It’s not a percentage of golfers that particular day. It’s a percentage of all golf rounds posted over multiple years at every course in the country. You’re thinking too small boss.
English

@YipStrickler @BarstoolClassic How many people played in the tournament? Assuming he wasn’t playing solo you have to take the 1580.6 and divide by number of competitors to get the actual probability of this happening. Assuming 150 people or so it’s then a 10% chance of happening. Not sure this is groundbreakin

Davis McDulin and Blake Poe claimed the top spot at the first @BarstoolClassic qualifier of 2026. Blake was a 7.2 handicap index and fired an even Par 71 (NET 62) from the Black Tees at The Park. According to the United Sandbagger Guardian Agency’s (USGA) score probability table, the odds of Blake shooting a 71 were 1 out of 1,580.6. #TheYipRule #golf #journalism

@YipStrickler @BarstoolClassic How many “best round of my life” have you heard from your reporting?

@bluegoon82 @THEREAL_DV That guy will be on the roster all year. Ward goes back soon. Or traded…
English

@THEREAL_DV So let’s not reward the back up c who has hit 5 bombs in very limited at bats and who we are all wanting to give more ABs to and let’s start the quad A player.
English

Dave Roberts said the original plan was for Dalton Rushing at first base today, but went to Rushing last night to let him know he wanted to reward Ryan Ward. Dave said Rushing finished his sentence to have Ward start today. #Dodgers

@VikingoArtico @JonHeyman They were laughing at the absurdity of the situation. Not the same as endorsing the action.
English

Reminder: These 2 idiots should be in jail
Kevin W.@Brink_Thinker
I still can’t imagine the thought process that goes into deciding to do this
English

@uncle_mafell @JonHeyman And if they bend his wrist back far enough that it broke?
English

@JonHeyman No. No they shouldn't. that's an extremely stupid and childlike position to take Jon. It's a fucking baseball game. Seriously? Sure ban them from the park. But jail? Yeah let's ruins someone's life over baseball. Thank god idiots like you are given just a keyboard and not a gavel

This is horseshit. There are plenty of reasons to pile on the Mets right now, this isn't one of them. Pretty sure this was an 11 pitch at bat. Mr. Smile, Francisco Lindor, had a great AB here. Fouled off a bunch of pitches. The smile here is basically to Ohtani, "you got me".
New York Post Sports@nypostsports
Francisco Lindor was seen smiling after being struck out by Shohei Ohtani. There's certainly nothing to smile about the way the Mets have been playing. Read more: trib.al/RCy5jtp

@SalStewartLover @TalkinBaseball_ Hottest sitter in baseball is quite a stretch. Andy Pages might want a word.
English

@TalkinBaseball_ 6.00 ERA pitcher strikes out the hottest hitter in baseball for their 7th win and says “sit the fuck down” like he did something
English

@Post_Thirty @MurrayHillGuy1 Oh so you can’t afford it and suck. Got it.
English

@PowerFade6 @MurrayHillGuy1 Would not even want to, waste of time. Keep your boomer sport to yourself and stop building golf courses to ruin the environment.
English

I was told growing up that I needed to learn to play golf to maximize my professional networking abilities
I’m now at a place in my career where networking via golf would be fruitful
However, no one in my professional milieu plays golf.. they’re all runners and pickleball players
Was this just a lie?
English

@Post_Thirty @MurrayHillGuy1 Sounds like someone who can’t afford a respectable golf club.
English

@MurrayHillGuy1 Golf is a way for mediocre people to feel special and for old men to feel like they are good at something. The same men put on the pounds like crazy and can't play Pickleball or any sport that requires quick movement.

@Bullzelis @Mathew_Mocha89 @PitchingNinja You talking about Koufax? Kersh? I suppose the biggest difference being degrom has 6 good years out of 12 played. The other two did it for over a decade in comparison. Keisha’s slowing down was still 20+ starts.
English

Jacob deGrom has made 250 career starts.
He's allowed 1 or 0 ER in 130 of those starts.

English

@Bullzelis @Mathew_Mocha89 @PitchingNinja Degrom has extra nasty stuff. The fact that he only averages 120 innings a year for his entire career means he can’t be one of the greatest ever. He just can’t.
English

@PowerFade6 @Mathew_Mocha89 @PitchingNinja Isn't that how the Dodgers greatest pitcher ended his career too? It's almost like pitchers get injured. He has enough sample size with his stats to be talked about as one of the best, definitely. While healthy he is the best pitcher of the generation, so I mean
English

@Bullzelis @Mathew_Mocha89 @PitchingNinja 430 innings in six years. While wins might not be the most important statistic innings pitched is a pretty good indication. You can’t be a great if you’re not in the game.
English

@PowerFade6 @Mathew_Mocha89 @PitchingNinja Yes, Cy Young and Walter Johnson are the 2 goats for sure. Then Christy Matthewson, Grover Cleveland Alexander and Pud Galvin round out the top 5. Wins are the only important pitching stat
English

@seaverway12 @PitchingNinja @Mathew_Mocha89 Yeah. Your team winning still matters. He’s only pitched 430 innings since 2020. Again his stuff is nasty obviously but you can’t be one of the greats if you’re not on the fucking mound pitching the ball consistently.
