A new paper by retired NASA developer Ivan Busko identifies transient events in 1950s Hamburg Astronomical plates and demonstrates that they are consistent with reflections from flat, rotating objects in Earth orbit. Buska’s findings support the validity of research by Dr. Beatriz Villarroel’s VASCO project, which uncovered unexplained transients in the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey plates. Dr. Villarroel has been associated with Sol since our founding and serves on our advisory board. Her work on fast optical transients in archival sky surveys is exactly the kind of research Sol exists to support: methodical, pathbreaking, and aimed at questions that most institutions have not yet found the courage to take seriously. arxiv.org/pdf/2603.20407

David Grusch has filed a FOIA lawsuit against the Department of Defense in the Eastern District of Virginia. Grusch submitted a FOIA request to the DOD on September 30, 2024 seeking records related to "unauthorized disclosure complaints" filed with the DOD Senior Intelligence Oversight Official, Mark Dupont, between April and December 2023, including complaints specifically about Grusch himself, and complaints related to "unidentified aerial phenomena," "unidentified anomalous phenomena," UAP, or UFO. The DOD acknowledged receipt of the FOIA request on October 3, 2024 and assigned it case number 25-FP-0002. The agency was required by statute to provide an estimated completion date, and the last such date given was May 1, 2025. After that deadline passed, Grusch's counsel made multiple attempts to get an update but received nothing further from the DOD. At the time of filing, over 504 days had passed since the original FOIA submission with no records produced. The complaint alleges three counts: Count 1: Failure to respond within the required timeframe Count 2: Failure to conduct an adequate search Count 3: Wrongful withholding of records. Grusch is asking the court to order the DOD to expeditiously search for and disclose all responsive, non-exempt records. Forums like Metabunk have been hard at debunking many UFO/UAP cases as prosaic objects - balloons, Starlink, ISS, misidentified airliners and so forth. Many Community Notes hold their opinion as facts in the citations. Over the years they’ve 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 resolved a case as “likely secret military tech”. Though we know that there have been several secret projects tested in our skies. Many of which have been revealed in the last 12 months. This, of course, goes back decades - Northrop B-2 for example. A psychological anomaly I can’t quite get my head around is this: if you believe the narrative spread by a select few current intelligence sources and widely reported by reporters like @joel_schectman and WSJ, then the UFO space has been dominated by a massive psyop to hide terrestrial tech. Making you think it’s UFOs, when it’s actually Lockheed/Northrop/Raytheon/BAE etc. etc. But yet the debunkers and hardened skeptics have never resolved anything, ever, as “secret terrestrial tech”. And despite being a skeptic and being told to your face that “we’re spreading misinformation intentionally” to hide things, why then do those same skeptics assign more trust in the very same sources openly telling you we were and are lying to you. As opposed to those who 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 in similar high ranking positions telling you the opposite is true? If you’re a skeptic, it doesn’t make sense. A Waved SAP actually requires you not to acknowledge its existence, even to most of Congress. If deception was part of the program, ruling out classified tech isn’t skepticism, it’s narrative protection. And if your goal (intentional or otherwise) is narrative control, should you really be the arbiter of truth (fact-checking)? My personal opinion is that a lot of things are happening at once. UAPs exist, secret testing of terrestrial tech is also taking place and it’s not just the UFO community being played, the debunkers, skeptics and journalists are, too. I agree with @EricRWeinstein on this.

@flarkey @maybevishnu1 Depends on you’re reliability comfort levels. I imagine there are multiple Starlink in every direction of the sky. Did you have the elevation and distance data of the object/s you’ve said the Starlink were “exactly in”? Satellite data is useful, but it’s now where near enough.

The one that we could deduce DTL from flight data showed 'orbs' appearing in the exact part of the sky that we'd expect Starlink Flares to appear so I think it is fair to say 'likely starlink' ✅ ⁉️

I guess AARO isn’t cutting it. agreed. Excessive secrecy gets in the way of public transparency. But starting a new effort within the Government will only be met w/ the same level of secrecy without transparency. We need to work on that - not changing acronyms of the cover up.

Precisely. I just can’t get past the signals AARO have been giving out since day one. Taking shots at whistleblowers, minimising every case, overtly insulting Congress on podcasts. They’re screening out “don’t trust us” and “get rid of us”. It seems too easy. They’re not that daft.

Part of me worries that this is actually what AARO leadership want. I can’t work out the benefit, or the angle, but it’s almost like they’ve been trying to get defunded and closed down since the start. And they don’t do anything by accident. They’re the only department technically deputised to gain access to everything (albeit I don’t believe they try to get what they should try to get). Without them we’re left with just asking agencies to hand over the documents please and hoping they comply thoroughly. A better option, in my opinion, would be to select new leadership - someone like David Grusch.

@AlexPag21070389 I think @realannapaulina is doing a great job and has a genuine desire to get to the truth on this subject, but I also believe that being a powerful person, in a prominent position, with that desire to get to the truth, makes her an obvious target for misinformation/misdirection.
