@ChrisMack_ @trq212 @amorriscode 100% agree, remote access to the desktop app from the mobile app or another PC/Mac would be huge. I'd abandon either codex or claude if the other comes out with this feature. Everything I run needs to be on my main PC but would love control from my laptop/phone

We just released Claude Code channels, which allows you to control your Claude Code session through select MCPs, starting with Telegram and Discord. Use this to message Claude Code directly from your phone.

@amorriscode Do you think we can have a remaining context bar or number in desktop like in the status line in terminal?

@amorriscode Can we get a changelog for desktop app? I update it up to multiple times a day but I would rather not have to semi reverse it to see what changed every single time

@amorriscode I usually create a PR first in the upstream but looks like no one looks at the PRs anymore in the agent sdk repo so I just use my fork now

We've been taking performance very seriously. This architectural change should make everything feel better for ya'll. Lots more to come. 🫡
Felix Rieseberg@felixrieseberg

A small ship I love: We made Claude.ai and our desktop apps meaningful faster this week. We moved our architecture from SSR to a static @vite_js & @tan_stack router setup that we can serve straight from workers at the edge. Time to first byte is down 65% at p75, prompts show up 50% sooner, navigation is snappier. We're not done (not even close!) but we care and we'll keep chipping away. Aiming to make Claude a little better every day.

Claude desktop is one of the most important daily apps, as it combines Cowork (personal assistant ie Anthropic Openclaw) and Claude Desktop (coding). There some minor fixes that 10x's the UX for users, hopefully @felixrieseberg @amorriscode can push out: - notifications seem unreliable to me, especially in claude code desktop, when I'm on Cowork, i've noticed it not giving a notification when cc is done. - shortcuts to navigate between chats, not clicking to select chats - notifications for cowork/cc always bring me to top of convo and I need to manually scroll down each time - /plugins: cowork allows managing plugins on app, but claude code desktop doesn't - overall feature parity with claude code cli
Felix Rieseberg@felixrieseberg

We're shipping a new feature in Claude Cowork as a research preview that I'm excited about: Dispatch! One persistent conversation with Claude that runs on your computer. Message it from your phone. Come back to finished work. To try it out, download Claude Desktop, then pair your phone.

Any idea why my Opus 4.6 context window dropped back to 200k on my Max plan? Yesterday it was 1M? @claudeai @amorriscode

Ya this has been happening for weeks now. When I chat in the code section it just doesn’t respond to me at all. But all the other sections work. I tried trouble shooting everything with Claude and it still doesn’t work. Still able to use cli and have recently been using dispatch which is amazing but would love to be able to use code too.

@BorisVagner Can you say more? It’s hard to fix without more details. The post above is related to Code.

You guys are the best. One thing I’ve had issues with is the code chat in desktop app. Have tried everything updating latest version deleting restarting. Chat and cowork works. Even have dispatch working which has been awesome. Been working on cli on terminal with my 200 max plan but would love if there’s a way to fix the code part. Not sure where to go about this. Thanks.

Heavy user of both. I love the app and the recent improvements are insanely good. I love the CLI, though…. Idk man I can’t get away from it. It’s like Jarvis on crack. I feel like the CLI just lives on my computer. The app in comparison - I know it does all these things, but there’s less friction in the CLI as compared to the desktop app. When I ask Claude what I should use, it points me to VS code and just using the CLI from there. I like being able to see my files easily in that format. It’s clear actionable and static which makes it even easier to know at all times - this is my folder structure- this is my Claude.md etc. Especially with so many skills and stuff, organization is essential. I’m trying to see how far I can get with iOS development and native swift. I want to see what capabilities I have to create a banger iOS only app with the help of Claude and the CLI is my clean saviour while the app feels like it could but it’s in a suit of shiny clunky armor instead of like a sleek spiderman suit which is the CLI. Might be terrible feedback but hope it helps.
