The UN has only recognised three genocides under the 1948 legal definition: the Cambodian genocide (2 million killed), the Rwandan genocide (1 million killed) and the Srebrenica massacre (8,000 killed in 2 weeks). That’s why I don’t describe Israel’s war on Hamas as a genocide.

Absolutely appalling. Israel has struck a Lebanese civil defense center near Baalbek tonight, killing at least 12 rescuers. The center’s chief, Bilal Raad, is still under the rubble.
HRW has denounced Israel’s repeated attacks on medics in Lebanon as “apparent war crimes”.

On the anniversary of genocide, security or facilities took down all posters calling for ceasefire and showing solidarity with Palestinians tho they’ve somehow left other posters up like the slice of watermelon one. I thought Edinburgh University was big on Academic Freedom? 🤡
