Crypto Startup School (CSS23) Spotlight Team: @ethdotid Founder: @j_eth_id Where is the team from? Miami, Florida What are you building? Eth.id is your Web 3 profile. You can customize it with no code and add apps of your choice. You can mint and sell your art as NFTs. It comes with a domain that works everywhere (on Web and Ethereum). It's the easiest way to get started on Web 3. How did the co-founders meet? I remember looking at a Github repo and thinking, "This guy is brilliant. Wish I could hire him." Then I forgot about it. It was at EthDenver when I played in the high-stakes poker tournament. It turns out the person sitting to my right was that exact engineer. We hit it off and the rest is history. What’s a milestone or update from the project that you’d like to share? We have enabled email-based signups and payments using credit card. It's now possible to start using Eth.id without worry about an Ethereum wallet! We're in the process of onboarding our first Eth.id artists who will be able to sell their art as NFT's as easily as possible. We're also sponsoring the MIT Bitcoin Expo (@MITBitcoinClub) hackathon (April 22-23) for pioneering developers who would like to build an Eth.id app. One lesson or takeaway from CSS so far? Brian Armstrong's (@brian_armstrong) talk about building your team thoughtfully we found resonating. Brian talked about how you can build something cool and people who find the problem compelling will make themselves known. On that note, if you find what we're working on at Eth.id interesting, shoot me a DM! @j_eth_id Favorite place/s you’ve been to in LA? Elephante restaurant in Santa Monica is my favorite spot that captures quintessential California. The view of the beach with palm trees swaying and the waves crashing in the distance is incredible.
