Over the past 25 years, Germany has pursued an energy transition by phasing out nuclear power and expanding solar and wind—at a cost of around €500 billion in subsidies. The result: installed capacity has more than doubled, yet electricity generation has declined. The reason is structural. Reliable, dispatchable power was replaced by weather-dependent sources. The consequences are severe: rising energy costs, falling competitiveness, and growing pressure on energy-intensive industries. The key question remains: How do you run an industrial economy on a system that produces less when it matters most?

That’s huge In the middle of the biggest oil mass extinction event in history, Ukraine has focused on making a hopeless situation worse by increasingly attacking Russian oil export infrastructure - ~40% of export capacity affected - ~2 mbpd disrupted For context: This is roughly in line with the feared Russian supply loss in 2022...which never fully materialized but still pushed oil prices to $140 Now this is happening on top of an already massive ~10 mbpd supply shock from GCC countries, meanwhile oil is down for the day This is one for the history books

Just got my pension statement, I worked 3,425 hours last year. That's an average of 66 hours a weeks. 1815 of those hours I worked for no income, I gave the government 1815 hours of my life last year. Just so I have the privilege of waiting in the emergency room for 14 hours when my appendix has ruptured. I feel like working hard and being honest in British Columbia is almost like throwing your life down the toilet. Price is what you pay and value is what you get, I don't find much value for my 1815 hours.

Rob, I don't even mind paying ridiculously high taxes I might that the government is absolutely wasteful with those collected tax dollars. It's the principal mouth the amount that bothers me. 26% of my tax burden goes to healthcare and I cannot get any service, that's a scandal.
