I bought this 1796 map of Africa for $165 in New York in 2024.
It shows the African kingdoms that existed before colonialism.
I can’t work out whether Zambia was part of the Jaga or Catango or Monomatapa kingdoms.
This is what we should be teaching our kids in school.

@muloongo @tazmus982 Unfortunately, I think they only included the kingdoms and nationalities they had interacted with, thus they knew their existence. There remains many more nationalities unmentioned.
Africa is unlikely to fall to the European domination scheme where one nation absorbs others
