Asking whether AI will replace designers is like thinking design tools will replace designers... AI is simply just another tool.

@ilyamiskov Somebody’s gonna have to figure out how to build it. If it’s too complicated to build in Figma, chances are it will be complicated in code. That being said, there are certainly phases in the design process where using auto-layout is more beneficial or even critical than others.

However, there were many instances where having to think about Auto Layout, behaviors, positioning, etc. was starting to become an obstacle and a waste of time rather than a useful tool. Like I said, it’s very circumstantial. Sometimes it’s really useful. Sometimes it’s not.

Is Auto-Layout worth it for solo designers?

@musipitokipona @sdw I added the second "/" because there are times when I don't want to replace the character. For example, when you search for a "¼ inch drill bit" on amazon… the search works better when you type it out.

Sharing an essential text expansion: please stop using ‘x’ for multiplication / zoom level and replace it with the beautiful, superior ×.

@mpietila @sdw I don't think they can. But they do sync via iCloud. So you enter them once on one device, and you'll have them everywhere.
