We’re labeled “traitors” and “self-hating,” yet I can’t help but ask: aren’t the Democrats the ones who actually betrayed us? I went from having blue hair & getting tear-gassed in Tennessee in 2020 while marching for BLM and trans rights. I truly believed every word of it. I wouldn’t have walked away from all of that unless something had gone seriously wrong—something that wasn’t being addressed. At this point, I have to wonder: are people really this brainwashed, or have we simply lost the plot entirely?

People always ask how I can be gay and have voted for Trump, but they never ask the more important question: why I left the Democratic Party and became drawn to Trump and the Republicans. As a former diehard leftist myself, this fascinated me back when Trump was first elected. That’s when I met a gay man who was enthusiastically supporting him—an irony that stuck with me. So I asked why. These days, I see Democrats refusing to even ask that question. They show no interest in understanding why people like me walked away. And without that curiosity, they have no real chance of fixing the problems in their own party. I find that incredibly sad.
