Inflammation Deeper Dive 1: WHEN DO YOU WANT INFLAMMATION You’ll learn: 1/ How much inflammation you want when sick. 2/ Why to avoid multivitamins before workouts. 3/ Why to avoid cold plunge post-workout. 4/ When damage to the body is good. Key Concept: HORMESIS 1/16

The first time I saw the plaque regression study, the thing that stuck out was population: 1. Done in China. 2. The wealthy probably aren’t volunteering for clinical trials, so poor. 3. From that I assume the diet is quite low in vegetables/polyphenols/omega-3 4. So I’m guessing there’s a lot of inflammation 5. Probably not that similar to a person who’s otherwise healthy and has a good diet So, I’m not sure these results are that likely to translate. But I hope they do, most people tolerate it, no risk signals I’m aware of, and you can test/retest. Back to the study, does it work because they have an overwhelming inflammatory load (which it can help with)? And it helps with that, can that somehow cause shrinking in plaque or cause the vessels to look different they looks like it shrunk?

Why would nattokinase decrease cholesterol and cause plaque regression? Mechanistically. That part doesn’t make any sense to me. I’d love to see someone repeat some of the nattokinase studies. Now. I’m a fan. It’s a daily driver. But I also want to be cautious about potentially overselling it.

If you want to lead on a world stage, you need to be able to pass the jet lag test. The jet lag test means getting off a plane with little or no sleep, standing before a crowd and stringing together words that make sense. This is table stakes for leading any organization, but really important for American politicians. They don’t have to be profound words or even good ideas, but they need to be somewhat coherent. A lot of aspiring leaders failed that test this week.

@KTmBoyle Flykitt allows anyone to do this. No jet lag anywhere in the world, so we’ll need a new test.

I invented a cure for jet lag. A REAL cure. And this guy spends 3 posts being angry it’s $99 (for a round trip)! 😂 Ok, np. I’ll keep building. [yes it’s real. Used by dozens of pro and Olympic teams. Money back guarantee].

@AndrewHerrBio @NotZainAgain @thechrismeade Hopefully I'm not making assumptions if I found this on your site. Still, your paid media tells me everything I need to know about the margins 😂 if you're willing to expend that much on CAC...

Check out the actual product instead of making assumptions. First - what’s no jet lag with? And second, the product itself is l much more than that. You get a custom program, 4 types of supplements + drink mixes, and blue light blocking glasses that could cost $85 all by themselves. But most important, you don’t waste the first 2-3 days of your expensive trip!!

Based on work with Navy SEALs, we discovered that flying causes inflammation, which prevents resetting your circadian rhythm. This is the secret to avoiding jet lag. By turning that off, we can reset your clock so you sleep well night 1 and feel great. FlyKitt.com

.@BookingHoldings CEO Glenn Fogel shares the secret to avoiding jet lag: "Just don't stop." "You're going from JFK to Amsterdam. It's a 6.5-hour flight. Maybe you'll get four hours. You're gonna be tired. It's not jet lag. You got four hours of sleep. That's why you're tired."

@tbpn - based on research with Navy SEALs, I discovered that inflammation caused by the pressure changes in flight, and stopping it, is actually the secret to avoiding jet lag. This allows you to shift your circadian rhythm overnight. We can now send 93% of users anywhere in the world with Flykitt. Used by dozens of pro and Olympic teams. I’d love to share how it all works with your viewers! Flykitt.com

One of the simplest ways to blunt the effects of travel, gargle salt water as soon as you arrive and use a saline nasal spray. Travel exposes you to new microbes first in the nose and throat

@JohnAllenBain Funny you should ask ;-) Gargle with salt water as soon as you get to where you’re going to.

I’m flying to Hawaii on Sunday to help facilitate a business conference. I need to be very sharp for this conference. I can’t afford jet lag. But my body is locked into Texas time. I'll be waking up at 3 AM in Hawaii if I don’t fix that. So I’m running a specific protocol to shift my circadian rhythm backward. Here is the plan: 1. Forcing the night shift. I will try to stay up until midnight or 1 AM every night between now and then. 2. Dark mornings. I naturally wake up early. But tomorrow I will wear sunglasses inside until 9 AM. I have to trick my brain into thinking it's still night. 3. Delaying caffeine. No coffee at 7 AM. Instead I’ll push my first cup to 9:00 AM to delay my cortisol spike. 4. Eating late. I’m snacking at 10 PM tonight and making a taco as I type this. I read that digestion keeps the body temp up and signals to the body that the day isn't over. 5. Sunday fasting. On the day of my flight, I will not eat breakfast. I will try to wait until it's "morning" in Hawaii (which is 11 AM my time) to break the fast. From everything I read, adjusting your circadian rhythm involves editing your light, temperature, and food timing. Let’s see if the bio-hack works. Anything else I should be doing?

@researchitgg @hubermanlab @peterpham @RobertKennedyJr Yes, and we should capture subject by subject data to understand n=1 effects. But this is all possible. Nothing here is impossible. We need to generate enough noise and leverage to push NIH/HHS to do it. Instead people are being defeatist. Never black pill!

You’re not going to see RCTs of BPC or epithalon or SS31 or (fill in popular peptide) because (drum roll)… there is no patent opportunity or broad enough interest. People will keep experimenting & taking however. Just be careful if you do: avoid gray and market peptides folks!

Many people are saying there will never be RCTs of peptides and other interventions that can’t be patented. THIS IS WHAT GOVERNMENT IS FOR: un-investable research. Stop being defeatist and let’s push for government spending that actually helps people! @RobertKennedyJr @SecKennedy please fund human RCTs of peptides and supplements.

@bryan_johnson @bryan_johnson let’s see those biomarkers on Flykitt! Inflammation is the missing piece of the jet lag puzzle, and we figured out how to stop the inflammation from air travel. If it doesn’t dramatically improve the biomarkers, we’ll donate $10k to a charity of your choice!

We all know how awful jet lag feels. I'm measuring over 200 biomarkers to assess the severity of damage. First data is in from 9 days at a 15 hr time difference (Los Angeles / Asia). Wrecked sleep + total sleep time: -7.4% reduction + time awake in bed: +18.8% increase + light sleep: +5.2% + restorative sleep: -19.5% reduction + REM: -23.6% reduction + deep sleep: -15.3% reduction + bedtime consistency dropped 35% + resting heart rate increased by 4 bpm (10%)
