Thanks @SPGlobal for a productive #CERAWeek, where the CEBA team discussed the urgent need for resource-agnostic permitting reform to ensure affordable, reliable electricity for all. CEO @powellrich took to the stage to explain how leading corporate buyers are funding solutions. From bringing new generation and storage online to covering grid upgrade costs, CEBA members are actively working with utilities and communities to ensure that growth does not come at the cost of reliability or affordability. Exciting news from CEBA members @Microsoft and @nvidia on their AI for nuclear collaboration to streamline the permitting process, accelerate design, and optimize operations across the industry. Nuclear surpassed wind in 2025 as the second-most procured clean energy resource by corporate buyers behind solar, according to CEBA's Deal Tracker. Reducing roadblocks to planning, permitting, and deploying these critical projects is key to meeting rising electricity demand with abundant, reliable, carbon emissions-free power.

We applaud @SenatorHick , @SenAlexPadilla , @SenAngusKing , @RubenGallego , and @SenCortezMasto for drafting a discussion draft on transmission reform. For corporate energy buyers, transmission reform is a critical step toward securing the affordable, reliable electricity our businesses need to stay competitive. This is a key piece of the final permitting reform package we hope to see this year, and we look forward to engaging with both sides of the aisle to help shape a deal that enables affordable and reliable energy. The stakes for American businesses couldn’t be higher — and the window for action is narrowing.

CEBA’s statement following the House Natural Resources Committee’s vote to advance bills that will enable and expand geothermal energy development: “CEBA applauds the House Natural Resources Committee for advancing several geothermal bills during last week’s hearing. Geothermal energy is a reliable, domestic clean energy resource that strengthens U.S. energy security and supports economic growth. We are especially encouraged by the committee’s bipartisan support of @RepMaloyUtah's Geothermal Energy Opportunity (GEO) Act and @RepSusieLee's Streamlining Thermal Energy through Advanced Mechanisms (STEAM) Act, which together would ease geothermal leasing and accelerate drilling in previously studied or developed areas. The committee advanced several other bills to modernize permitting, improve interagency coordination, and reduce unnecessary delays while maintaining environmental safeguards. CEBA urges House and Senate leadership to continue this momentum and move these bills to the floor for consideration and passage.”
