This play-in game between Nebraska and Richmond was a PERFECT example of the failures of the NET in dictating tournament bids. Richmond was the #3 team in the tough @A10WBB (2-bid league, #6 conference behind @BIGEASTWBB)
@MasonWBB beat Richmond TWICE, including a 15-pt domination in conference semis 3/7 IN RICHMOND. But #3 Richmond got the bid over league co-champs #2 Mason solely bc of NET.
The NET penalizes teams w early-season injuries like Mason and doesn’t value what full-strength tournament-level teams can achieve

It was a neat experiment but the execution was poor and it landed flat. What’s interesting is the Women’s teams also complained last week, and that didn’t seem to have an impact.

NEWS: The Big 12 will be transitioning to a hardwood court for the remainder of the Big 12 tournament. The LED glass basketball court has been greeted with mixed reviews, including feedback that it is slippery.

The Big 12 has decided to go back to the normal floor after 3 of the 4 semifinal coaches made the decision along with Commissioner Brett Yormark, source told @TheFieldOf68. There were injury concerns moving forward with the new floor - especially after the injury to Texas Tech’s Christian Anderson.

@CBSDetroit reports law enforcement is responding to an "active shooter situation" at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, on Thursday afternoon.
Temple Israel is located on Walnut Lake Road and, according to its website, is the largest Reform synagogue in the United States.
West Bloomfield police, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police are at the scene.
