@GPrime85 The reddit humor brained constant internal monologue of Grace in the book was excruciating.
English

Saw Project Hail Mary. Charming movie. Sweet, pleasant, and Rocky was very cute. The soundtrack was phenomenal.
Recommended, though I'd say the book is preferable since (despite its length) the movie had to rush a bit without letting slower scenes breathe.
Can't help wondering how the Solo movie would've been with these guys directing. Bet it would've been amazing. Screw Disney.
English

@BitPaine It's really funny being old enough to see things universally reviled hailed as universally praised years later by people who were children at the time and had a very limited perspective of how the events actually played out.
English

basically everyone who saw these movies thought the same thing:
> the music slaps
> the lore is good
> the set pieces (lightsaber fights, space battles, pod racing) are s-tier
> sfx brought us to a new era
BUT
> the dialogue is flat and cringe
> jar jar is a cursed character

“I genuinely can't understand how the previous generation saw this in 1999 and said "this sucks".”
English

@Megalithic12000 It's almost like we've known things don't add up with the Sphinx for decades and some have a vested interest in that not being resolved.
English

It's blown my mind just how many people have said there's no point in digging at Giza.
No point in finding the second Sphinx. No interest in understanding what's really inside the pyramids or what's beneath the sand.
Don't you get it? This could change everything about our understanding of who we are and where we came from.
But what's been equally powerful is seeing the momentum. Thousands of people from all walks of life, genuinely fascinated by our ancient past, demanding answers.
That's how this changes.
Not through waiting decades more for permission from the top, but through pressure from the ground up. The public interest is growing, and it's not going away.
What's hidden beneath Giza will be found, and we will be the generation that finally uncovers it.

@1CrypticPoet @brian_armstrong @coinbase He fuck face, @brian_armstrong is scuttling this FOR THE BANKS. JP Morgan said they had a backdoor deal with Coinbase to stop the Stablecoin loophole on their earnings call two months ago.
DYOR and stop believing what these fucks say in public.
English

A lot of people have completely lost the plot on CLARITY.
Some of you are so desperate to get a bill passed that you’re willing to let banks gut stablecoin rewards and call it progress. And now @brian_armstrong and @coinbase are the villains because they won’t accept it?
Be serious.
Yes, Coinbase benefits if stablecoin rewards survive. So do users. That’s the whole point. Everybody in this fight has interests. The difference is Coinbase’s interest here is aligned with users. The banks’ interest is making sure they keep the upside.
A lot of the people talking the most shit either forgot or never cared who’s actually been in the fight. Coinbase pushed for clear rules, took the SEC lawsuit, stood up for staking, funded key legal fights, and helped build real political pressure for this industry.
I want CLARITY passed too. But not like this.
We are not starting from zero here. Between the regulatory clarity we got this month and where GENIUS left things, this is not some accept-anything-now-or-get-nothing moment.
That’s what makes this so backwards. Crypto gets so desperate for the quick win that it starts helping the wrong side win the bigger fight.

@AbsGEC You forgot the original "Clarity by Thanksgiving" them "Clarity by Thanksgiving or Christmas" then "By the end of the year'

@thegenesisbl0ck Sure there is. It's called raging against the dying of the light.

@jeffcharlesjr That was a response to Karmelo Anthony getting a million dollars after murdering a Austin Metcalf like a month before.
English

How much money did folks on the right give that chick for calling a black kid the N-word?
I can't remember.
Can someone remind me?
Olivia DeHaviland 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸@okrainer
@jeffcharlesjr I think you’re wrong about the folks on the right condoning and cheering that. It’s the left Who are crazy.

@TheyWokeAmongUs @ShemekaMichelle Or maybe neither is racist and the only people beating that drum have been brainwashed onto thinking it is.

@Howlingmutant0 He's mocking a multi-millionaire who abandoned her murdered husband's infant children to his parents to pursue money and fame. Fuck her
English

Where’s his video mocking George Floyd’s family?
Richard Staple, BSN, RN🇯🇲@RichStapless
In case there’s still fake outrage, he mocks everyone.
English

@thevivafrei I'm more offended that Erika pawned off her young children to her murdered husband's parents to pursue fortune and fame before the body was even cold.
Mocking a piece of shit like that is highly warranted.
English

This is the type of stuff that reserves you a special seat in hell.
And no, this is not a case of “to know who rules you know who you cannot mock”.
This is just a question of children who became adults, and never had parents who instilled basic humanity in them.
Libby Emmons@libbyemmons
The black comedian who put on white face to mock Erika Kirk probably thinks he's "punching up," but there's no honor in cruelly mocking a widow.
English

@xraygirl_ If the Egyptians knew about it to include these hieroglyphs, they likely altered the other head as well. Perhaps it did not go as well as the one we know already so they let the sand rebury it.
English

@TheJeffPutnam Wow, you're dumb AND a piece of shit. Hopefully your kid won't inherit the latter, too.
But thanks for pricing my point.
English

The logic of the new Harry Potter series doesn’t make sense to me. And no I’m not referring to the choice of actors.
My youngest (11) loves HP and even he pointed out how dumb it is.
Each movie/book has now been broken down into what will probably be 8-10 episodes, meaning they’re hoping for 8 seasons.
But my kid just asked, “Why would I spend 10 weeks watching the series if I can just watch the movie in 2 hours? I could watch one movie a day and be done faster.”
I mean, you already know what happens in The Godfather, so who tf would watch it as a series that tells the exact same story just with different actors?
English

@the_Bradster007 Right, because they won't just make a mute animated Link for the obvious third Smash Bros themed film.

@DrewPavlou Erika abandoned her young children to flock to the limelight after their dad was murdered brutally in public and the video blasted online for weeks.
She's brought this derision on herself.
English

If somebody did blackface to impersonate the family members of George Floyd three months after his death, they would have very quickly had their life destroyed
But apparently this is fine

@gatorgar She abandoned her kids for fame after Charlie was killed. She deserves every but of mocking and more.
English

I’d like to remind you of Shiloh Hendrix, and how the right passionately supported a white woman calling a black kid the N word, because of what they called “black fatigue.”
I also seem to recall very little right wing support for Black Lives Matter. Something about “All Lives Matter,” if I remember correctly.
Where is the outrage towards anti-white activism now? Is it suddenly morally acceptable as long as a black person is mocking a white woman who lost her husband? Not only that, but specifically mocking her for trying to honor her dead husband’s legacy by continuing his life’s work?
The double standard here is going to eat the right alive. Especially if the left is able to figure out how to leverage it. A colorblind society where racial humor is allowed is ideally the right way to go. I’m not at all saying that this type of comedy should be stigmatized, as that is not my personal belief.
What I’m pointing out here is that anyone on the right reacting positively to this is being extremely inconsistent with their beliefs in a way that reveals a pretty serious underlying problem.
