If you carve out 33% out of existing seats, reserved for women, the existing MP’s who are men will oppose as they will lose the seats they have cultivated for long. It is self preservation in politics. This is why this 33% was opposed for so long. Increase to 850 means that the additional seats will form the corpus for women reservation.
VaradhaRajan T@VaradhaRajan73

@TVMohandasPai Out of the existing 543 seats why BJP not allocate33%. Why bring delimitation and women’s reservation together. It seems like BJP don’t really want to give33%. By combining these two bills BJP know the opposition will object, then BJP can shift the blame onto them, that’s BJP plan

PM @narendramodi Sir there is a big conflict of interest between Govt and Big 4 in India. Govt system captured by Big 4. Many relatives of govt officials are employed by them. Tenders are restricted to them. Please examine to liberate govt and enable more Indian firms to grow @PMOIndia @nsitharaman @FinMinIndia @sanjeevsanyal @amitabhk87 @NITIAayog

Wow. Big 4 are doing all the work in the central govt. The result is for all to see.

Hazlewood and Duffy to Play Together; Venky Likely to Open for RCB vs MI RCB Playing XI vs MI: Virat Kohli, Venkatesh Iyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, Tim David, Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd, Josh Hazlewood, Jacob Duffy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Impact Player: Suyash Sharma. This combination looks well-balanced in both batting and bowling. With Hazlewood and Duffy in good form, RCB’s pace attack becomes even stronger. Venkatesh Iyer can open, especially with Phil Salt struggling, and he also has a solid record at the Wankhede Stadium. What do you think, RCB fans? Should Hazlewood and Duffy play together?

Yesterday, Nita Ambani visited the Kamakhya Temple Guwahati for darshan. She said that the animals and birds there, including goats and pigeons, will be taken to Vantara in Jamnagar. The goats will be taken there so they can live freely and safely.🙏

@chhavi The best place for the reservoir to be built is the Governors bungalow largely unutilised or the land reclaimed for Coastal road gifted to a corporate, instead of destroying the garden.

Almost three years later, finally there seem some concrete movement over the construction of an alternate reservoir in Malabar Hill, with officials zeroing in on a three-tier design of 52 MLD capacity. Earlier plans to fully demolish & rebuild the reservoir were shelved following strong public opposition back in September 2023, as the move would have impacted the iconic Hanging Gardens situated above it. The plan now is to partially undertake repairs once an alternate tank is built. More below 👇🏻 timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/mumbai/bm…

Mumbai Coastal road: Over a month after the city’s first melody road was inaugurated the BMC has decided to barricade it and keep. This comes after local residents wrote to the civic body, raising strong objections to the music being played through the day along the northbound stretch of the city’s Coastal Road, which cuts through residential neighbourhoods. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/mumbai/af…

Starting April 2026, the BMC will roll out “Participate Mumbai” — a platform aimed at bringing citizens, institutions and corporates onto one common ground to co-create the city. From volunteering your time and skills to backing projects through CSR contributions, this could streamline how Mumbai collaborates for its own development. No more running to ward offices — a dedicated digital portal will allow users to: • Browse civic projects • Submit proposals • Sign up to volunteer More here : timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/mumbai/bm…

19-3-26 #nifty India is suffering from oil shock, gas shock, jobless indians in the Gulf, lower remittances, falling exports, rising imports. Now there's one more addition to the list of shocks - election rallies. Instead of attending to the crisis, our politicians are likely to focus more on speeches and oratory. Expect solid cuts in industrial output, consumption, and a massive drop in GDP. From the market point of view, expect bearishness but know that beyond a point, price falls become meaningless to the non leveraged investor. We are all in the gutter. Get used to the stink.

Lots of reactions to my last post on the #Mumbai Coastal Road bicycling track. Mostly positive, some concerned about green cover. Once the Coastal Road Garden + Mahalaxmi Racecourse Central Park are completed, I’m confident even the critics will be pleasantly surprised & the conversation will turn very “green”! 🌳

Airports are good indicators of global economic mood and momentum. Just flew out of Delhi Airport and have never seen it so desolate, quiet, almost lonely. The ongoing geopolitical turmoil has frozen movement, tourism, and trade, with consequences that will compound and weigh on global growth and prosperity for years to come.
