@Swift_Commando @8EngrBde @LogComd Definitely nothing to do with @8EngrBde this is all @21eng members of the @3rdUKDivision War fighting Division. You can thank us later 💪🏻💪🏻🫡🫡

@bootneck @8EngrBde @LogComd Hey there Royal. Army still need to rely on doing the bulky stuff well. We do indeed have a couple of innovations up the sleeve that are being looked at… re purposing the RAF’s Tactical Refuelling Area, fuel cubes and ‘M-Series’ ctrs for example could all help fill this gap.
English

@Swift_Commando @8EngrBde @LogComd It's great to see this can still be done Swifty but I hope some effort is being expended in Futures to look at how disaggregated and dispersed Ops can be sustained; this doesn't seem to scratch that itch imho.
English

@bootneck @RUSI_org @Strategyforwar1 If that’s true, LAND need the CF strategy to deliberately reference that the future CF do NOT intend to engage in future proofing their Heavy Surf M capabilities. This clear intent will then help focus Army to develop its own req’t. Current strategy dangerous no man land.

@Swift_Commando @RUSI_org @Strategyforwar1 Swifty it's fair to say CF in their new role are departing from the traditional Amphib / Mass / Offload. If LAND want/ need to put heavy eqpt across a beach and not into a port, then Strat RoRo reqt shaping is key, not de-scoping LRG / LRG Strike concept assets.
English

Is the Commando Force’s focus on raiding distorting future amphibious ship planning? @Strategyforwar1 provides his analysis in the latest #RUSIDefenceSystems article.

@104Bde and @17_RLC help enable @47CdoRM training in the Solent this week with the launch of a LCVP. If only @BritishArmy had this maritime capability too… @thinkdefence #logistics #maritime

These container handlers and flatbed trucks are awesome workhorses in the Port. Could the current shortage of 20ft ISO ctrs should prompt @LogisticThinker to consider shipping more 40ft ISO ctrs to SPODs in future? @104Bde @thinkdefence
English

@Swift_Commando @UKArmyLogistics @thinkdefence @LogisticThinker From bone dry? 65 if replenishing HFO, but more likely this was topping up the diesel tanks, which would take just over 3/4 of a tanker 16,000 litres of the 20k capacity
English

How many @UKArmyLogistics Combat Support Tankers does it take to fill a Strat RORO ship with F-76???surely MoD will invest in better expeditionary shore to 🚢 ⛽️ capability soon. @thinkdefence @LogisticThinker

@SolitarySapper @thinkdefence @UKArmyLogistics @LogisticThinker The ageing single point mooring buoy just needs some work now.
English

@Swift_Commando @thinkdefence @UKArmyLogistics @LogisticThinker I thought that the design of Mare Harbour was based around moving fuel both ways between ships and the tank farm; at least that is how an undergraduate engineer working on site in 1986 understood it! 1/2
English

@Strategyforwar1 @thinkdefence @UKArmyLogistics @LogisticThinker We were late to be invited to the party but are now fully integrated thankfully. MEXEflote and heavy armour lift requirements front and centre.
English

@Swift_Commando @UKArmyLogistics @thinkdefence @LogisticThinker Why does the British Army not use local port capacities? In France, it is up to the captain of the chartered ship to settle his logistics needs

@LogisticThinker Good question to answer…. Consumption rates change especially in high intensity combat vs business as usual. Obsolescent components are the other blocker to this strategy. Others have mentioned LT which is the root of it all imo.

@JuggStephen @17_RLC Hey Stephen. Really good pictures. Thanks

Trip to Stanley yesterday, and to this crucial slip where @17_RLC helped disembark over a million tonnes of materiel during the war. #falklandswar
