SGBs were and remain the best way to invest in Gold because of low cost and 2.5% yield when trading at a price equal to Gold or a very small premium. If they are trading at a discount, they definitely become better. They don’t get the tax exemption like before, true. But now they are equivalent to ETFs / Gold funds. Not worse. Will they become less liquid and always trade at significant discount - I doubt that. The counterparty risk of govt changing tax rules exists on all financial instruments and not just SGBs. For sure, selling your SGBs today and moving it to ETF / fund / physical today makes no sense.

This card has just become my favorite. In less than 15 days, it has "supposedly" yielded me 11,733 miles. I have started using this card as primary for International transactions and here's a small experience roundup 1.) 0 declines, gotta give it to the bank. They did call once but I couldn't pick, post which they emailed me, to which I replied positively. Still pretty impressive as I have faced declines with every top Indian issuing bank 2.) Have crossed the joining fee waiver and a tad lesser to annual fee waiver, fees has been charged will see if they refund automatically 3.) Very few MCCs are excluded and hence a great card. Now for what's it worth, will wait for the transfers to be live and if it happens as they have promised, this is going to be a killer card, I would say goes on to beat any card that is out there in the world, not just in India.
