@CousinTurn Tbh I’m kinda expecting some regression from Tatum as a slasher and iron man just based on what we’ve seen from previous Achilles injuries. And I don’t really trust anyone else outside of him to be a reliable slasher and paint scorer idk maybe PP

@burner_celtics Not inherently… in 2024 KP scored 1.3 ppp on 19% frequency. Thats an insane offensive option to have as a counter to your best players getting a switch with 4 guys in the gaps

@NBASXN I agree. A good switching scheme will take away your roll/pop and you’d either have to go into another action to expose the big on the perimeter (we never do this), ball handler can attack mismatch or big man can attack mismatch. Usually for us it’s just attacking the mismatch

nah no more time needed brother just posted the 1 year , heres the 3 year weighted simple rapm with a BPM prior (wembys prior is by far the higher in the single season at 4.2 with the next highest being Queta 2.0, White 1.0, Gobert 0.9 only played 64 games while queta and white played 76 and 77 respectivly so his dimpact pulled a lil bit harder to that prior number one in single season impact:court-share.com/prism/leaderbo…

The jays without him were +29 and he was -28 with Jaylen (who was +9 without him or Tatum) and +9 with Tatum who was +32 without either of them. He shot 30/21 splits on 8 ppg while gettin torched like he offered us absolutely nothing all series

@stephfrom3_ @sockt2003 The huge run literally because of white🤣 he went on a huge heater. Our finals mvp started the game 0-5 with 3 turnover and notoriously threw the ball to Joe Mazulla on the sideline. The game was over before it even got started really. Jaylen was awful for 3 quarter

@NickEnglander19 I’ve seen plenty of switches where he didn’t get the rebound. His oreb rate is like 25% which is elite but it’s still 25% and then the ball is in the hands of a 40% free throw shooter

Yes, the Celtics happen to perform better by net rating with him off the court. That was also essentially true for Minnesota when Anthony Edwards sat The Celtics have been a premier example of quality starting lineups, elite depth AND staggering their stars. Fixating on what happens without JB on the court as a ruler against him instead of acknowledging what happens with him ON the court is why this whole debate is so stupid If the Celtics were not good with JB, and good without him (like a few other stars around the league) I would understand the sentiment, but that is NOT reality

@isojay914 I think it certainly gives teams something to think about but they’re absolutely gonna just switch instead of letting Tatum play against drop coverage or get downhill n spray. And all the good east teams have the personnel to switch without thinking about Mitch rob

@alfcbert @Mishimaesque @rieszspieces Usage is how many possessions a player ends… Tatum still had more total, frontcourt touches and time of possession cuz we play through him. Jaylen usage was still too high but that stat is about shots and turnovers only not who has the ball the most
