housingcohorts.ca Canada’s housing market needs new models. Housing Cohorts helps groups of future homeowners organize, align, and move toward real housing projects together — from interest to development. Co-ops, townhomes, shared ownership, and community-driven housing built for the next generation. 🏘️

@jr_delecto @KevinCastley @UhNuh53415 That's why we keep stifling competition by handing out billions in subsidies and grants to people best able to schmooze and donate back to political parties.

@BStoneBrief @KevinCastley @UhNuh53415 The job of the economic system isn’t to make sure everyone does the right thing. Its job is to allow for innovation to make things easier and better for everyone, freedom to reward those who are the most innovative, productive and prosperity for people that contribute to society

Eby may still be Premier for at least this week, but the decline of BC was a team effort by the BC NDP. #bcpoli

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Firstly, it's a pipe-dream to imagine that local models can manage the vast compute and context required of a frontier model like Fable. Maybe some distant future, but not now. Secondly, I think we are approaching a major hockey-stick moment (and it's been accelerating since last September with the pivot to agentic AI, thanks in large part to Anthropic's pioneering work), and the entire economy is accelerating into the unknown. This requires some intentionality and a lot of control. This isn't software. This is more like a weapon test.

🚨BREAKING: The U.S government gave Anthropic 90 minutes to shut down Fable and Mythos “Amazon AND others” called senior administration officials to warn about models’ capabilities Then: 1:00pm: Government calls. “Take it down.” Cites “national security threat.” No details. Anthropic asks what the threat is so they can fix it. Government said NO. 5:30pm: Commerce letter arrives with export controls. You have 90 minutes…

I wonder why @elonmusk, who is Canadian, decided not to build his civilization-changing, historic-levels-of-wealth-creating companies in Canada? It will remain a mystery.

@mileslunn Could I have 1000 pebbles and some jackoff buys one of my pebbles for $1000, instantly making me a millionaire?

Musk is a trillionaire in wealth not income. Essentially if sold all assets would have that but never made anywhere near. If a company worth $10 trillion and one owns 10% of shares they are a trillionaire. If company value falls, their net worth falls irrespective of income
Rachel Gilmore@atRachelGilmore

Put differently, if you made a dollar every second, you would be a millionaire in just under 12 days. It would take you just under 32 years to become a billionaire. You would have to have been born 31,709 years ago — in the Upper Paleolithic era — to become a trillionaire. IF YOU MADE A DOLLAR EVERY SECOND!!!!

@mileslunn Correct. It's a shell game of people inflating the value to launder money.

@SteveOnSpeed The ones pretending to be financially literate are just corrupt and know he gets government contracts so they're betting on money laundering tax money, so... I guess we are all either human garbage or illiterate.

Do people think musk is a trillionaire because he literally has $1 trillion sitting in a bank account that he can disperse as he pleases? People are even more financially illiterate than I thought.

Simple. China is a communist state ruled by the CPC which builds housing for homeless The US and Canada leave the homeless out on the streets and in the parks to terrify the working masses into compliance for fear of ending up like them They give us goyslop and demand our appreciation

The NDP’s decisions on DRIPA, their changes to the Interpretation Act, and the uncertainty from the Cowichan ruling are undermining the security of homes, farms, and businesses across our province. When fee simple title is cast into doubt, families lose confidence, investors walk away, and vital projects like pipelines to tidewater are stalled. This is the frustration our Alberta neighbours feel, and it weakens us all. I know these issues firsthand. I fought and won a landmark property rights case at the Supreme Court of Canada on the Musqueam leasehold dispute, defending ordinary homeowners against overreach. Secure property rights are essential to freedom, family stability, and a thriving economy. The NDP cannot credibly lecture Alberta about unity while his policies create the very roadblocks fuelling Western concerns. British Columbians expect better. While the NDP pushes policies that sow division, our Conservative vision will strengthen the West and deliver a far more prosperous British Columbia for every family. This is about good-paying jobs, safer communities, and a province where families can afford to stay and build their futures. Having served in Stephen Harper’s cabinet, where we lowered taxes and returned to surplus, I know how to deliver these results. The NDP’s ideological experiments have gone on long enough. I invite every British Columbian who believes in freedom and prosperity to join the BC Conservative movement today. Become a member and help us build the team that will rescue our province. Join me. Together we will defeat the NDP

@MlogicGr8Again @DissentFu Interest wasn't illegal, it was illegal for Christians meaning the law intentionally created a class of userers who could be scapegoated.

@DissentFu How do you feel when you learn that "interest" on loans used to be illegal? It was considered immoral and [is still] only practiced by the satanic. They fooled our grandparents into accepting the 30yr mortgage scam.. it doesn't have to be that way.
