Tesla self driving approved in Netherlands on April 10th After that every EU country can essentially "copy" the approval and instantly approve it in their country too So by end of 2026 it's likely we'll have Tesla Full Self Driving in most of the EU 🇪🇺
Tesla Europe, Middle East & Africa@teslaeurope

Together with RDW, we have officially completed the final vehicle testing phase for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and have submitted all documentation required for the UN R-171 approval + Article 39 exemptions. The RDW team is now reviewing the documentation and test results package internally. They have communicated the expected approval for Netherlands date of 4/10, shifting from 3/20 previously and we look forward to successful completion of this cooperation.  Following the Netherlands’ approval, European countries will be able to recognize this approval nationally. We are anticipating a possible EU-wide approval during the summer. Over the past 18 months, this approval has involved a series of intense documentation, development, testing, research & audits. Including but certainly not limited to: – 1,600,000+ km of FSD (Supervised) testing on EU roads – 13,000+ customer sales ride-alongs – 4,500+ track test scenario executions – Thousands of pages of written documentation for 400+ compliance requirements – Dozens of research studies into safety performance/results We're extremely proud of the work conducted with the RDW team up until this point. We very much look forward to the approval in April, and sharing FSD (Supervised) with our patient EU customers!

Flexing lack of sleep is outright one of the dumbest things to be proud off, it is NOT cool. I’ve done it myself in my early grind days, thinking I was badass sacrificing sleep to work hard. Sleep should in 99% of any cases be your #1 priority, as it unlocks everything else you possibly wanna achieve in your life. I constantly see danish politicians flexing their willingness to sacrifice sleep, comforting knowing those who make the big decisions put themselves as a massive deficit to do so. Athletes who’s any serious about their performance and training know how important it is. If you for some reason struggle with sleep, or can’t possibly get enough in certain periods of your life, as life happens… Creatine is your helping hand. It off sets a lot of the things you’ll lack when you don’t sleep enough. See it as a temporary help, but don’t ever think it can replace sleep.

So, a word on the whole "guy uses AI to cure his dog's cancer" story that's going around: I don't know if it's true or not. It's somewhat irrelevant to what I'm about to say. What I do know is this: My wife and I are friends with a couple a few towns over. We buy duck eggs from them. The husband, a very alert, physically capable engineer in his 70s, got cancer. They are absolutely avoiding the accepted treatments. Instead, they're pursuing a therapy that mirrors what the guy with the dog dig: They paid a lab and got the tumor sequenced, and paid a company to develop a vaccine targeted specifically at the tumor's gene sequence. And it's working. Spectacularly. This isn't a novel approach. It's out in the world, and there are companies, doctors, and labs offering it. But the medical industry won't tell you about it. Your doctor isn't going to offer it to you as an option. You have to go looking for it. It's not cheap, but it's cheaper than a course of chemo. And it actually works.

Ok I set max players to 32 now q3.pieter.com Pure chaos :DDD
@levelsio@levelsio

✨ 7 years after I set up a Quake III server, I have it running again, but now in the web browser, much easier 😊 👉 q3.pieter.com 👈 Back in 2019 we'd play a fork of Quake III called OpenArena in a Bali villa with @daniellockyer @marckohlbrugge @dannypostmaa @lenilsonjr_ @gvrizzo @AndreyAzimov @SeanParkRoss and other ppl But it broke after a new Mac update and they never really fixed it, it kinda sucked because it was actually the only game we could just load with friends online and play death match a bit and then continue your day Luckily @lukathedev built Q3JS which successfully compiles ioquake3 to WebAssembly and now it works in the browser To make it extra simple, I've set up a Q3JS server and frontend for you to use at q3.pieter.com, which loads you straight into the game A big problem is that most of the times, nobody's playing, so I've also added Web Notifications, which notifies you if enough human players join, so you can join a match. And I've added a daily match at 8 PM GMT every day which everyone also gets notified when it starts If you want more servers and maps etc, you can check out @lukathedev's own q3js.com HAPPY FRAGGING

🚨 Here is the full 40 minutes of my crew and I exposing California fraud, Minnesota was big but California is even bigger... We uncovered over $170,000,000 in fraud as these fraudsters live in luxury with no consequences. Like it and share it, the fraud must STOP. We ALL work way too hard and pay too much in taxes for this to be happening. These fraudsters have been able to defraud American taxpayers for years without any pushback from the public and politicians. It is time to EXPOSE IT ALL and end America's fraud crisis.

But do firewalls really do much? Aren't they just a "backup" to misconfiguration? Normally, if your SSH is setup properly nobody can get in anyway... I think the whole advantage of your setup is mostly to ensure that the server's IP isn't leaked to avoid the false spam reports you've been receiving.

When I set up a new Hetzner VPS first thing I do install Tailscale and once I'm in via Tailscale lock down the firewall to only accept web traffic on HTTPS 443 for Cloudflare IPs and SSH 22 for Tailscale IP That way nobody can get in I know I keep repeating this but it should be basics of setting up a new VPS So basic IMHO it should be part of any VPS service to default install Tailscale and enable it so it's the only way to get in Why? A VPS server is just like your laptop or destop computer but now imagine if it's connected to the entire internet with 8 billion people that can access it and try hack it You want to only have it accessible to you And if you want to host a website on your VPS (like I do), you should only let Cloudflare access your VPS so it can stand in front and block any hack attempts Never expose a VPS to the world wide web which realistically is the world WILD web
Areeb ur Rub@areeburrub

@levelsio @nfcodes I created a redis instance on hetzner with public port open for few minutes and someone was running a cryptominer the next moment taking 50% CPU 💀 After that I always use @Tailscale 👌

@ID_AA_Carmack Time to add some pull-ups in your daily routine ! I did that years ago and found out randomly one day I could do muscle ups (not perfect ones for sure)

I tried the “Pete and Bobby Challenge” of 100 push-ups and 50 pull ups in 10 minutes. The push ups aren’t a problem, and I figured I could do 5 pull ups x 10 on a 1 minute cadence, but I crapped out after 25. It turns out I can barely do 5x10 on a two minute cadence, so I have a ways to go.

Imagine you're John Carmack you're 22 years old and you just wrote a 3D engine in assembly that runs at 35fps on a 486 Doom drops. Quake drops. Half the planet is playing your code. you're the reason GPUs exist. you're the reason your friend Jensen has a yacht today. then in 2009, you sell id Software. people call it betrayal. you call it "they made an offer I couldn't refuse." VR obsession. Oculus. Meta buys it for $2B. you're CTO. but Meta thinks you're a liability. your demos are "too intense." your emails are "too long." your focus on frame timing is "slowing us down." 2022. they push you out. not fired officially. just "restructured." the media writes "end of an era." some crypto bro calls you "washed up." silicon valley moves on. but you don't. you don't write a book. you don't start a podcast. you don't collect speaking fees. you go completely quiet. you take the money. you buy a warehouse in Texas. you hire 10 engineers. and you start coding. not games. not VR. AGI. two years. radio silence. no tweets. no conference talks. while everyone's debating ChatGPT, you're debugging CUDA kernels at 3AM, testing world models. then in 2025, Keen Technologies pivots hard. you're not "exploring" anymore. you're building it. here's what people get wrong: everyone calls it a comeback. a redemption arc. "revenge on Meta." it's none of that. you're a 54-year-old engineer who still codes 12 hours a day because you genuinely can't stop. most CTOs would have bought an island. most legends would have written memoirs. you just kept typing. the most dangerous person in any codebase is the one who goes quiet and never stops shipping commits. karma doesn't need to be real. but obsession is. welcome back, Carmack.
