Open minded to the point of confusion. Politically somewhere in middle. Father, Husband. Not trying to be a smartass.

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran: “I do not know why the Americans and the Israelis still have not understood this point. The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong political structure with established political, economic, and social institutions. The presence or absence of a single individual does not affect this structure. Of course, individuals are influential, and each person plays their role, some better, some worse, some less. But what matters is that the political system in Iran is a very solid structure. We have not had anyone more important than the leader himself, and even the leader was martyred. Yet the system continued to work and immediately provided a replacement. If anyone else is martyred, it will be the same.”

@asymmetricinfo I have no problem with people who are not parents sharing their opinions on parenting. After all, you had parents and you likely learned many parenting lessons when you were growing up.

I am not a parent and I haven't spent much time around little kids but I have a strong opinion that many parents spend too much time beating themselves up about small choices that probably don't matter much, and everyone would be happier if they relaxed a bit.

I've gotta say "I'm not a parent and haven't spent much time around little kids but here are my strong opinions about what parents are doing wrong" is not my favorite kind of tweet.

@EVKontorovich @grok if the US government seems to be backing the current VP of Venezuela, does that undermine the argument that we're coming on the invitation of the previously recognized leadership?

THE MADURO ABDUCTION & INTERNATIONAL LAW. Most of the international legal establishment is having a meltdown over the Maduro abduction. Law professor groups are lamenting Trump's "undermining" and "abandoning" of international law. I'd say academic opinion is 98% against legality. Indeed, at first glance, the invasion and abduction of Maduro does seem to be a "use of force...against the ...political independence of any state," in the language of the UN Charter Art. 2(4), or in plainer terms, a violation of Venezuela's sovereignty. However, this is true when the attacked state's government objects (as is typically the case). If the attacked state's government consents, there is no violation of sovereignty, and this is the common case of invited interventions and military assistance. Obviously Maduro and his vice president strongly object - but the United States "does not recognize Nicolás Maduro as the president of Venezuela," in the words of then-Secretary of State Blinken, so that's irrelevant from Washington's perspective. Instead, since the Biden Administration, the U.S. has recognized Gonzalez, the winner of the 2024 elections, as the legitimate head of the government. Gonzalez has certainly not opposed the operation, and his sole public response, the X post below, could be as an endorsement. Alternatively, Venezuela could have no recognized government, which technically means no one can consent to foreign intervention, though this is a fairly harsh and formalist implication of doctrine, as in practice such countries are ones quite likely to create harmful externalities for third-countries, who in this view have no recourse. Given the bipartisan U.S. view that Maduro is not actually president, and that his regime control was heavily supported by foreign troops (Cuban guards were apparently the only ones to fight for him; Hezbollah has reportedly been welcomed as well), the action to remove him would not be against the "political independence" of Venezuela, and thus not implicate 2(4) at all. It would be odd to read 2(4) as allowing foreign powers to use troops to prop up an illegitimate, unelected dictator, but not to remove him.

I have not seen one person say Tucker Carlson shouldn’t be ALLOWED to interview that Nazi frog. If I’ve missed someone saying that then I agree they’re wrong. That Carlson choses to, and makes it an ass kissing non-questioning love-fest is, still wrong. What you have the RIGHT to do and what you SHOULD do are not the same. This isn’t complicated and yet the amount of the woke right disingenuously or stupidly screaming “free speech” is staggering.
Disclose.tv@disclosetv

NOW - Trump on Tucker Carlson's interview with Nick Fuentes "you can't tell him who to interview... if he wants to interview Nick Fuentes, I don't know much about him, but if he wants to do it, get the word out, let him... ultimately, people have to decide."

Keep in mind Chappelle is saying this in a country that regularly puts people in prison for tons of speech violations and the very comedy festival he got paid a lot of money to do has a ton of its own speech restrictions.

1.) these are the dumbest people alive. 2.) these are the dumbest people alive, who are worshipping one of the dumbest people to ever live, whose speeches WERE NOT GOOD. This was a fact people noted at the time! that Hitler's written speeches were mid at best and it was his spoken voice that made them "effective."
