Having just read the sentencing guidelines that relate to today’s sentence of child killer Axel Rudakubana, it’s astonishing that because of his age (under 18 at the time of the offence) the starting point for a minimum sentence is just 12 years. 12 years is set as the MINIMUM. The judge can and obviously should impose a much, much harsher sentence. If the judge were to impose the statutory minimum sentence he’d be back on the streets at age 30 🤷‍♂️ Given the severity, the premeditation and the multiple victims involved, this judge had better find a way of imposing a WHOLE OF LIFE tariff. Monsters like Rudakubana will never be rehabilitated. He must rot in jail.
