@github World Password Day is a good reminder that the goal should be to stop having passwords entirely. GitHub already supports passkeys. The reason this day has to exist is that password managers solved the symptom, not the root problem.

@github The real move is switching from passwords to passkeys entirely. GitHub already supports them. If you're still maintaining a codebase that stores hashed passwords for your own users, the migration path is straightforward and worth prioritizing.
