🧐 Curious case of a 35 year old Doctor.. A regular runner with good strength, Dr S recently started suffering from abnormally high heart rate - even on her regular runs. 🤔 The usual check-ups at a hospital (related to heart, and blood pressure) didn't reveal anything. ⚡ When she approached me, I asked her to get her blood tests done, including vitamin levels. 😬 Her Vit-D came at 4.7 ! That is DANGEROUSLY low! 🎯 When I saw her level at 4.7 - I commented that I won't be surprised if supplementing that alone will resolve the issues. And it happened! ✅ We aggressively supplemented, and within a few weeks the issues are resolved! 💚 Happy to have helped a Doctor with the issue. Day 3 of MHC 2025, Session 11: Dr. Arun Gupta (@Moveribfan ) a practicing pediatrician in conversation with Prsanna S. (@prassri ) on ultra-processed food products - the politics, lies and public health crisis it has lead to. Dr. Gupta highlights the difference between real foods and empty calories. Almost always instant foods are ultra-processed and consist only of empty calories, no nutrition. Cheap ingredients go into these foods for the manufacturer's benefit. Marketing strategies such as ease, time-saving, etc. are deployed to lure people into buying instant foods. Often false claims of health benefits are also made. Another VERY insightful session in #MHC2025! @BittenJonsson discussing sugar addiction and its vicious cycle, with @shashiiyengar # Addictions develop early! We have to treat them at the root cause level # Sugar is a psychoactive substance - which is addictive! # Sugar isn't food! So she says we have to call it specifically sugar addiction, and not 'Food Addiction' # Fundamentally, addiction to alcohol and sugar are the same. Early exposure really hampers! # We have to understand addiction at the biochemical level. Need to improve sleep, correct deficiencies, add physical activity. # Addiction is not about willpower. But about the effects of psychoactive substance + a sensitive brain. Our modern food environment has become dangerous! So going cold-turkey works very well! # Sometimes the addicts are in the state of biochemical denial! # You don't need more studies to start fixing the brain health and get de-addicted! #MHC2025 is power-packed with such insights! Dlife.in success story! Helped a 79-year-old non-vegetarian male recover from severe weakness post-Chikungunya. At the time he approached me in Dec 2024, he was barely able to walk because of the severity of joint pain and muscle weakness. I fixed his meals to strengthen muscles and joints purely with easy-to-make preparations of whole foods comprising healthy proteins and fats. I recommended a meal plan flexible enough to accommodate carbs he loved while staying within Anup Singh's golden rule of 100g carbs/ day. That helped him stay away from cravings and he could still savor the food he loves. He is a passionate engineer who enjoys working in his workshop. For him, fitness means being able to do things he enjoys! For a 79-year-old man, happiness is in living a self-dependent, pain-free life! I feel blessed to receive this message from him today morning!
