It is quite surprising to me that almost no one is referencing the most well documented study of Andes virus transmission that we have in which super spreading occurred and droplet/aerosol based transmission was the most likely route for several of the cases. It doesn’t mean that it always happens but it does mean that it can happen. Thankfully all passengers are accounted for and quarantining. But if this were to import here again in the future, and it does not start on a cruise ship, the situation could be very different. #Hantavirus

I’m feeling much more reassured about #Hantavirus after today’s sequencing data.
That said, we still don’t know what we don’t know - about the virus itself or who else might eventually test positive. Stay tuned.
What’s most concerning to me right now: the political and public reactions in the media and on X, make it painfully clear that if/when we face another real COVID-scale event, we’re in serious trouble. Seems after initial assessment in Nebraska, passengers will have the option to isolate at home for the quarantine period.
I don’t think this is realistic. While the chance is low that they would leave their home and go into the public, the chance of infecting a family member at home would be the bigger concern. I don’t have any doctors will say that with confidence. most will actually tell me it’s 100% not caused by Effexor. Only one neurologist admitted it, but she could only speak to the neuropathy and tremulous.
