@Arwenstar The way the BBC unquestioningly carried this nonsense partly explains why they have lost 500,000 customers this year. A model is a crude tool, not a bringer of unbridled truth.
English

@ceritheviking That is what I thought , as a rather idealistic supporter of Wales as an entity. However, reality has kicked in rather abruptly, and Labour has not played that game, nor will it in the future.
English

It’s going to be a long four years with the political games being played
Many will say it’s not, it’s how politics works.
I just wanted / want devolution to be better. Far more about wales, rather than about party. Still a long way to go on that.

Labour won't be supporting Plaid's budget today. They are calling on Plaid to withdraw it, make changes and bring it back in the summer. I understand the Greens plan to support the budget but without Labour support as well it will fail.
English

@DerekTheWeather Summer!! Children were out of school historically to help bring in the harvest.
English

@NetZeroWatch Where is the issue. When I was a parliamentary candidate for another party, loyalty to policy was a leading question. Otherwise, you end up with the Westminster Labour Party, who act as independents and totally screwed Starmer. May went totally off beam in her last days.
English

Pressure group Prosper UK has called for a ‘broad church’ after leader’s vow to exclude candidates who do not align with her policies. Kemi Badenoch has rejected some former Conservative MPs as candidates at the next election for refusing to align with her rejection of the 2050 net zero target and her pledge to leave the ECHR, dismissing the 2050 net zero goal and similar policies as a “passing fad that makes us look more like Liberal Democrats than Conservatives”.

English

@NetZeroWatch @DavidGHFrost Indeed. I have been in a high profile meeting this afternoon, in which notice was made of the fact that Scotland gained little in terms of manufacturing from wind. It was easier to import it from abroad. The green jobs bounce is illusory.
English

"Net zero is a fundamentally unconservative policy, a big-government statist capture of policy-making that has more in common with communism than with free markets and wealth creation." @DavidGHFrost

Farmers across Africa are growing nearly five times as much as in the 1960s. But most of those gains have come from cultivating more land, which cannot go on for ever economist.com/middle-east-an…
English

@LloydCymru Yes, probably. However, that is not acceptable in the long term. Cameron had the sane problem ss Foreign Secretary.
English

@trefjon They’d probably have one of the junior minister MPs answer questions in the commons if he was to be appointed
English

He’d certainly be more pro-devolution than Jo Stevens. Not that it’s a very high bar.

@trefjon @Channel4News You only have to look at the millions of people impacted by extreme heat in recent months, along with the excess deaths and struggling infrastructure to see how nonsensical your response is.
English

@trefjon @Channel4News In your opinion, of course.
Credible science is clear about what is happening and why, whether you agree or not…
English

@BBCPolitics Rather, a joke. He is not an answer. The problem is the 406 Labour MPs who did not consider themselves good enough.

@nmrqip This was discussed on the news yesterday. Largely summed up what is wrong with the planning system rigged with green restrictions, which is making the country a laughing stock.

@SBarrettBar Yet the activists at the BBC pushed it with a passion.

@ThatJohnJones @BBCPolitics The lack of any chairing was obvious. It could have literally ended in a fight! Andrew Neil might have handled it a bit better!!

The BBC booked someone onto this programme who they guessed would say something outrageous about the death of Ann Widdecombe, and from 5.03mins in she delivers.
@BBCPolitics must be so happy.
They are utterly wretched. The end of the licence fee can't come soon enough.
