@karen_bek @GNRailUK Interstingly enough, if the ticket office at Kings Lynn warns people they'll be delayed at Downham Market, then the travel is at the passenger's risk. If they don't bother to warn them, the delay is bound to trigger the maximum delay repay compenasation.

@GNRailUK Why let people pay and get on at King's Lynn if you know you're gonna leave them stranded in Downham? You've only provided one bus!! Not offering any alternatives!! Just leaving people there... Charming!!

@fmcbadger @mk2james @RailDeliveryGrp @greateranglia A passing loop at Soham is completely irrelevant, any increase in capacity will require doubling the line all the way to Ely. And Network Rail says the ground conditions aren't suitable (without spending a fortune).

🚉 Cambridgeshire's #Soham station makes its return to the network today, after closure in the 1960s. 😀 With @greateranglia passenger services starting on Monday 13 December, the station is key to connecting local residents and businesses to the rest of the country.

@Doug_Paulley @RailDeliveryGrp @greateranglia I looked at the NationalRail website earlier, and under the section for "Staffing" it said "Ask the staff", but I suspect there's no staff in the absence of a ticket office and only a train every two hours.

I was planning on getting the first train from Soham to Ely and an "hourly" bus back. But there's 2hr gap in the bus timetable, so it's quicker to wait for the train to go all the way to Peterborough and back.

Quicker and better to drive to Ely or use the hourly no.12 bus that goes to Newmarket and Cambridge or Ely, serving the Central areas too!
