The Highway Code Rule 167 explicitly states that a driver must not overtake approaching or at a level crossing. The driver overtook in the prohibited zone, creating a risk of collision with other road users and trains. This conduct appears to contravene the Level Crossing Regulations and meets the definition of careless or potentially dangerous driving.

In #London early. Just by Francis Holland Prep school, just off Kings Road, Chelsea. Nearly every #child dropped off by huge 4x4s but it's cyclists that cause the traffic issues in London! Road is littered with them, double parked, chaos. Why the need for a 4x4 in a #city ?!

@RealismHelps @CharlieSmithMus @adamtranter Are you stupid? You think driving like this, speeding, using cannabis and a phone, overtaking another vehicle resulting in mounting the pavement would not end up killing someone? After hitting thr child he reversed back over her. That, if nothing else is intent!!

In England a driver can be speeding, using cannabis and a phone, overtake another vehicle, mount the pavement outside a school playground and kill a 4-year-old girl while uninsured — and receive just 3 years 10 months for causing death by careless driving. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@willnorman @SadiqKhan @TfL @MetPolice Yes, wonderful stuff, giving VR headset cycle training for HGV drivers!! Really!! Give your heads a wobble !! Any cyclist death with an HGV will be on your hands! We deliver the courses and they are vital. Plus most of the drivers love riding a bike again, and continue to do so!

Today, I was proud to join @SadiqKhan to launch London's bold new Vision Zero Action Plan. Vision Zero is our initiative – with @tfl @metpolice & London’s Councils - to eliminate tragic deaths & serious injuries on our streets by 2041.

@paulryanuk @CHAIRRDRF London boroughs and TfL have been experimenting with these kinds of markings in parks and central London roads where there’s heavy cycling traffic. They’re not the same as the classic zig-zags at pedestrian crossings.

@CHAIRRDRF My understanding is the cycle lane should be omitted at the controlled area and the zig-zags should be at the carriageway edge defining the controlled area.

Bit of logo nerdery here. New signalled crossings in Regents Park replacing (mainly trief kerbed) refuges. It seems to be OK for cyclists - although do let me know if your experience contradicts this impression. Also I'd query the cycle logos before the zig-zags... 1./

@2Sides_1Story @RichardRf020370 @subictaxi Unless ur watching a different video, u should be able to see what happens. Slow moving traffic across the jct looks like black Merc van & ambulance, followed by Waymo. Waymo should never have entered yellow box as exit ahead wasn't clear. Struggling on why u need to see more !

@CyclingCardiff @FietserGlasgow You realsie the bike weight is only 10kgs difference. As stated we have riders 150kgs on bikes. I'm 88kgs so on an ebike Id only be 2/3rds of 150kg in standard bike

@ConfidentCyc @FietserGlasgow There are other variables, but you are starting with a heavier bike to begin with. Plus the propulsion makes a difference. On an e-bike I felt like the bike was going to dart away from me.

@CyclingCardiff @FietserGlasgow We have riders on regular bikes 14kgs who are 150kgs and they can propel the bikes at a decent speed. Certainly wouldn't want to be stood in front of it and colliding with it !!

@2Sides_1Story @RichardRf020370 @subictaxi Are you just a bot? How can you disagree when its Highway Code Rule 174!! You MUST NOT enter a yellow box junction unless your exit road or lane is clear, which it wasn't here, as proven by having to reverse!! 🙄

@2Sides_1Story @RichardRf020370 @subictaxi IF you think its done 'excellently' and you possess a UK driving licence and drive a motor vehicle, we suggest you stop driving immediately and retake your driving test. If this was a test, you'd fail it !!

@FietserGlasgow That statement is like a driver going 100mph on motorway and stating they didn't know! Not entirely sure where we go with this. 100s of drivers get off 'free' when killing others, but these lame excuses should not be accepted. Seems his daughter has accepted it though.

@FietserGlasgow It wasn't a cycle path, it was a narrow pavement! This isn't the exact point but same road. Like this with big hedge/bush by property. Rider had not thought riding on the pavement was an issue or illegal, but agreed he should not have been on the path! No excuse though is it! (1)
