This week, @unwomenuganda is on a high-level field mission in mid-western Uganda, assessing @wphfund work in Hoima & Kikuube. With @ADCinUganda, @UNHCRuganda & @UNinUganda, with implementing partner @MIRAC2Albertine has trained 975 leaders & reached 500,000+ pple on land rights.

Rising land conflicts in Western Uganda driven by harmful norms (“women should not own land”) & increase in land value disproportionately affect women. Through #WPHF, @MIRAC2Albertine empowers communities w land rights knowledge & mediation tools turning conflict into dialogue.

Land is power. And when power is unequal, conflict follows. In Hoima & Kikuube, we conducted a joint visit with @unwomenuganda under the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund #WPHF, where Austria 🇦🇹 proudly supports efforts to advance women’s role in peace & security.

Are you aware of digital rights when it comes to workers . Our systems are at the centre of rights violations in pursuit of digital transition- 1. Right to privacy 2. Right to disconnect 3. Right to consent etc - in most cases our spaces have adopted digitisation with an aim of improving efficiency in mgt , however there is need to interest our selves the extent to which workers rights are protected in the digital era. On Day 3, Uganda’s delegation, led by State Minister for Kampala Hon. Kabuye Kyofa, convened more networking sessions with urban development stakeholders from Spain, Finland & key partners to explore investment collaboration. Key takeaway was to form a Cannes Action Team (CAT).

Digital platforms cannot remain neutral while ♀️women face harassment, deepfakes, coordinated trolling, and sexist hate speech online. When platforms fail to act, women journalists, activists, and human rights defenders are pushed out of digital public spaces. #PlatformAccountability is essential infrastructure for digital democracy.
