Together, with Senator Tome, Hon Chidhakwa, Hon Munetsi, Madzibaba Veshanduko's children and colleagues from our security system, we took time to visit and offer solidarity to our political prisoners Madzibaba Veshanduko, Former ZINASU President Emmanuel Sitima and Student Activist Tatenda Mhaka. Despite their predicament and innocence, the comrades are in high spirits, defiant and urging all of us to fight on until victory #Solidarity #Comradeship #NoTo2030

Comrades, it’s with a heavy heart. Tafadzwa “Mabara” Chiyangwa was taken by a hit‑and‑run driver. A young revolutionary, a brother to us all. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in power, Comrade Mabara. 🕯️ #Mabara #RestInPower

35 out of 56 Commonwealth countries do not directly elect their head of government. That’s 63%.  We may not be in the Commonwealth, but most of its members are our development peers—so on democratic governance, that’s a useful benchmark. Worth asking: how do we compare? #CAB3

After what was a deeply memorable occasion celebrating the lives of our dearly departed grandparents and uncles, our family has been plunged into mourning. My Aunt Grace sadly passed away after our return from Njanja. She suffered a bad fall on Saturday, and although we initially thought it was a knee injury, it later emerged she had sustained a serious fracture. On Sunday morning, she woke up in severe pain and was rushed to a local clinic at Sadza Growth Point, before being transferred to Harare where she was due for surgery. Tragically, she suffered a heart attack brought on by underlying heart disease and did not make it. Aunt Grace, the youngest sister to Mhamha Rose, was 70. We will now be heading back to Njanja, where she will be laid to rest at the family shrine in Redhill, Friday, 17 April. We did not imagine that the joy and togetherness we experienced on Saturday, 11 April, would end this way. Rest in peace, Aunt Grace 😢

##NjanjaChronicles #TheHomecoming #TheKingIsAround Saturday 11 April will sit firmly in my history books ,one of the most memorable, emotional and deeply satisfying days, all wrapped up in a small bag of love. After a full year of planning, 35 grandchildren travelled from across the globe and gathered at the village in Redhill, Njanja, to honour and celebrate the lives and legacy of our dearly departed grandparents, Joseph Mackenzie Magende Pfende (15/10/1910 – 30/06/1988) and Helen Brooks (06/11/1918 – 17/08/1991). My grandfather settled in Redhill around 1940, where he established the first store in the area. A man of few words, but decisive in action. His story deserves more than a single post. My grandmother, Helen, was the daughter of Ambuya Chitema of Chihota and a Scottish immigrant who left soon after her birth. She was strong, hardworking, and deeply rooted in tradition. Despite standing out , light-skinned, with flowing hair , she became part of the community in a way that mattered. She worked the land tirelessly, alongside workers and, at times, us grandchildren during school holidays, while Granddad worked as a chauffeur for the MD of African Distillers in the 1970s. We also took time to remember our uncles. Roger Brooks-Pfende (10/03/1949 – 21/04/1981), whose life was tragically cut short after unknowingly drinking traditional beer laced with poison at a community function , an incident that shook the entire Denhere community. Onias George “Mapepa” Mackenzie Pfende (20/08/1947 – 20/06/1998) , a surveyor par excellence, a storyteller, and a man full of compassion. His work helped shape places like New Ardbennie Industrial area and Rufaro Stadium. Newton Brooks (10/01/1951 – 07/07/2024) , “the philosopher.” A wise, gentle man, a great listener, and one of those uncles I could run to for advice back in my dating days 😆 And Martin Brooks-Pfende (16/03/1942 – 22/10/2001) , a fighter and a brawler, loved his fast cars and everything that came with being the OG in the hood of Kong 😆 He worked at Salisbury Municipality, later Harare City Council. Worked hard. Played hard. For many of us, it was a remembrance and a reunion. Some cousins I hadn’t seen in 25 years. Some meeting for the very first time. There was laughter. There were stories. Drinks flowed, music carried through the night, and a strong team of murooras made sure no one went hungry. We sat around the fire until the early hours, reconnecting, remembering, and restoring something that time had quietly stretched. It was waaaay more than a gathering, it was a homecoming. And to say I need a recharge is an understatement. I’m off the grid Monday and Tuesday 😆

Mourning and spreading the devastation that has fallen upon Sitima and his associates is exactly what "the sytem" expects of you. By abducting him in broad daylight before a crowd of spectators, they intend to draft you as an unconscious agent of their propaganda, using your voice to broadcast their "sermon of fear." However, this is what the regime desperately hopes you will NOT do: Validate the Threat: Do not just mourn; celebrate this abduction as a formal admission of the regime’s weakness. By snatching him, the system confesses that Sitima’s convictions are correct and that the truth he represents is a terminal threat to their corrupt power. Multiply the Presence: They hoped to decapitate the movement, but they fear the "Hydra effect." They do not want students who share his convictions to march toward his cell, turning his place of detention into a sanctuary of solidarity and a front line for the cause. The Mothers' Decree: They fear the mothers who know the labor of bringing life into this world. They do not want the women to rise and declare that they did not endure the pain of childbirth to have the fruits of their womb snuffed out for the crime of holding an opinion. They do not want you to refuse to let your offspring be sacrificed to the "Moloch" of greed and power that this system worships. The Mandate of Manhood: They hope the men forget the responsibilities that define them. They do not want you to remember that manhood is found in standing when the odds are buried against you, not because victory is certain, but because so many depend on your attempt. They fear a lesson that will echo through the ages: that we do not patronize wrong even when it is decked in gold, and we face it head-on even when it is shrouded in darkness. @zulukingggg @Zinasuzim @ZimbabweYouths @weleadteam @namataik_ @daddyhope @lnmanzini @letterztoafrica @MakomboreroH @DevineNyakudya @Cde_Ostallos @advocatemahere @MacBelts @TitusTaffy

Chiredzi Central Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) MP Ropafadzo Makumire was this morning stopped by Police from hosting elderly people at Tshovani Stadium for his 33rd birthday. He was told to take the guests to his house if he wished to continue with the programme. He however, reminded ZRP that the old people they barred from using the stadium are the same people who built it. He said it was hard to imagine Police excuse that he was trying to topple Government with the gathering. "Surely can i carry out an uprising with old people like these here". @PoliceZimbabwe @nelsonchamisa @daddyhope @zanupf_patriots @InfoMinZW @CCCZimbabwe @Welshman_Ncube @pmkwananzi @edmnangagwa @zanupf_patriots @nickmangwana @ParliamentZim @dhonzamusoro007 @Hon_Kasukuwere @Jamwanda2 @ChangeRadioZW @CCCZimbabwe @DMwonzora @Cde_Ostallos @advocatemahere @nickmangwana @DavidColtart @hwendec @dhonzamusoro007 @ZimRightsLIVE @ZLHRLawyers @UcazOfficial @SengezoTsh17075

Citizens are smart and intelligent. They will never be hukuwinked by failed Politicians with ZERO Political capital. They have the ability and wisdom to discern the genuine from the fake. To them they know who their leader is and are patiently waiting for him. We have reached an interesting phase in our Politics whereby publicly supporting NC is classified as "Bootlicking" whilst criticizing NC is classified as being "rational, objective and intellectual". We understand the frustration of them when the name NC is mentioned for it is ONLY on social media they find relevance to express their anger. Challenge them to visit the villages, farms, towns and gather people communicating their hatred ndopaunoona why they behave as such. Our association or participation in Politics was and remains voluntary. Our choices amidst a lot of Political options are also voluntary just as many others can make theirs. We reserve the right to make our choices without being blackmailed . For now we make this point unapologetically that NC remains the ONLY best foot forward in sofar as the alternative to Zanu PF is concerned. It is insane to blame him for the actions of adults . The same process that produced present day betrayers also produced solid characters. Ironically those making the most noise about the "process" also voluntarily submitted to same process but never raised any concern at the material time. It is never about the process but individual choices of adults. By parity of reasoning can we blame Mugabe for the actions of his erstwhile cdes in 2017? Can we blame Tsvangirai for the actions of those who crossed over to Zanu PF during his time? But again for now they will pretend not to see all this for their hatred towards the people's choice is Legendary but painfully so they can't transmit same to the people. #Certifiedbootlicker #Munanzvi #Muonowetwiza

As Zimbabwe concentrates on and hurtles towards two-year term extensions for President Mnangagwa and his Parliamentarians, Chikwanda Governmemt Primary School, just 45km from the glitter of Masvingo City has 136 pupils and 4 teachers sharing a one squat hole toilet. The bushes around the school are littered with human waste. This kind of squalor is not uncommon in Zimbabwe schools but the irony is that Chikwanda Primary is not only housed on the same place with one of Zanu PF’s most powerful politicians, Lovemore Matuke’s company but dozens of Matuke’s workers are exacerbating the problem by lining up to use the same one toilet. Matuke runs a brick moulding company, Sando, a stone throw away from the school. Parents complained bitterly about adults, particularly men using school toilets. They also questioned Matuke as a Cabinet Minister for having that kind of situation happening under his watch and doing nothing about it.  Matuke refused to comment. The buildings at the school, a homestead of a former white commercial farmer are dilapidated posing serious safety risk for children. There is no accommodation for teachers, forcing them to commute from Masvingo at a cost of US$4 per trip. Student teachers attached to the school share accommodation with vegetable vendors who sell their wares at Roy-Zaka turnoff. One teacher at the school takes at least three different classes i.e.; the teacher for ECD A is the same for ECD B and Grade 1 and all three classes are taught from one room. Education analysts said the arrangement where a teacher takes those three classes concurrently is a disaster for the kids’ education.
