I've said what I said about Paxton and if you can't understand why a Christian would still prefer him to someone like Talarico, you just don't really know people outside your bubble. As long as Dems keep nominating people like Talarico and Platner, you'll keep getting Christians voting for the morally repugnant Republicans, who, at least, are not a threat to them. ewerickson.substack.com/p/noting-not-u…

This umpire was calling a 9U baseball game. A player came up to bat and hit a home run. What happened next is anyone’s guess. Most are saying the umpire blew up after he lost his mind and robbed a 9 year old of a home run. What do you think the call should be? Do you think k he blew it big time or do you agree with the call?

You mean like the transition you led to incoming President Trump? The one in which you, Biden, Brennan, Comey and Clapper sandbagged Trump with false charges of collusion and then launched the bogus Steele dossier against Trump. Not to mention what you did to countless WH and campaign aides.
TheBlaze@theblaze

Obama: "The White House shouldn't be able to direct the AG to go around prosecuting whoever the president wants prosecuted. You can't have a situation where whoever is in charge of the government starts using that to go after their political enemies or reward their friends."

The media spent years telling you Trump is universally despised. Then Noah Syndergaard — a former MLB pitcher, not a politician, not a pundit — walks out of the White House Oval Office on May 5, 2026 and says this on camera: "It's like a dream come true. I don't understand the negativity he gets. He cares so much about everybody." He wasn't asked to say it. He wasn't running for anything. He just spent time with the president in person — at a ceremony reviving the Presidential Physical Fitness Award — and described exactly what he saw. The narrative and the reality keep refusing to match. Follow and turn on notifications before it's too late.

@billybinion He never has to sell. He can just use the assets as collateral and borrow to fund whatever he wants to do. And if he he does sell, he's taxed at a lower rate than a schoolteacher.

A lot of people seem to believe Jeff Bezos has hundreds of billions of dollars sitting in the bank. No. The vast majority of his wealth is in stock. The years he doesn’t sell, he’ll pay less in taxes. In a year he sells, he’s taxed a TON—far more than most will pay in a lifetime.

@KurtSupeCPA Good thinking. And it's important to keep in mind that if a person has shown the discipline to pay off debt, they are probably pretty good about staying on track with their other goals. For these people, you don't need to obsess too much over "optimal" decision making.

Kurt Supe, CPA & Retirement Planner
A retiree walks in and says, “I want to pay off my mortgage.” I explain, “You’re at 3.25%. Your portfolio has averaged well over 7% long term. Keeping the mortgage still makes sense. They reply, “I hear you, but I don’t care. I want it gone.” This happens constantly with retirees. The math says keep the low-rate debt. Their gut says wipe it out. Why? Many grew up with Depression-era parents who taught them: Debt is dangerous. Banks will take everything. Own your home free and clear. That old programming doesn’t care what the spreadsheet says. As a young advisor I used to fight this battle. Now I don’t. If being debt-free lets you sleep at night, that peace of mind is worth something. My job isn’t to talk you out of it. My job is to help you do it the smartest way possible without wrecking your retirement plan. Not financial, tax, or legal advice. Results are not guaranteed and individual circumstances vary. All scenarios are hypothetical composites for educational purposes only and do not represent any specific client or outcome.

@DavidDack These ranges are a little odd. HUGE difference between a 30-minute and 40-minute 5K. Anyone doing a 10-minute mile is not a beginner. And someone cranking out 7-minute miles is "average." Please. Your sense of who is in the running community is way off.

How fast is your 5K? • 12–14 min = Olympic-level • 14–18 min = Elite • 18–22 min = Competitive • 22–25 min = Average • 25–30 min = Fit enough • 30–40 min = Beginner Over 40? You’re out there trying. And honestly… that counts more than people admit. Most people won’t even test themselves over 5K. They’ll stay comfortable and never find out. You did. That already puts you in a different group.

It’s hard to understand the severity of the moment, if no one is being held accountable for it. • Kyle Long, it’s more about his title as “Hitting Coach” and less about him. A team that doesn’t hit, has to hold the man in charge of “hitting” accountable. • Rob Thomson, it’s more about his relationship/standing with the players. If the players don’t respond knowing Topper may be sent to the sword, it’s usually for the better. The final 10 days of April will be HUGE(!!)

If they felt like Bohm needed a bit of a reset… Carter Kieboom, who I totally acknowledge has never been good in the big leagues, is hitting .347 in his last 11 games. Overall at LHV, he’s hitting .313 with an .811 OPS and is somehow younger than Bohm. Could also just roll with Sosa but just a name to keep an eye on.

I’m hearing more and more that the solution to all of college sports’ “problems” is collective bargaining. With every passing day, I see less reason for athletes to agree to restrictions through collective bargaining. And setting up a bargaining unit(s) will be very challenging.

Stop funding all NGOs. Billions of dollars are wasted in fraud and inefficiency, billions more on financing the debt which has been inflated by fraud and inefficiency, and now billions more going to aid programs? Why cannot such aid efforts go to charities who do NOT receive government tax money? They can appeal for donations like all charities. @StateDept @StateDeptGHSD

Senior Official Jeremy Lewin@UnderSecretaryF

On Friday, @StateDeptGHSD released its first wave of PEPFAR data, covering July-Sept 2025, after State took over USAID’s lifesaving health programs. Contrary to false media narratives, the data shows that President Trump’s foreign assistance review maintained and improved frontline lifesaving programs, while reducing NGO bloat and costs. During this transition period; - 20.6 million people w/ HIV received PEPFAR-supported antiretroviral treatment, exactly as many as during Biden’s last year - Early progress towards @SecRubio’s ambitious goal of ending mother-to-child transmission of HIV during @POTUS Trump’s second term, with preventive treatment initiated for 103k expectant/breastfeeding mothers, more than 2x as many as the same period a year earlier - Good initial progress moving programs, particularly in the treatment and testing space, to national health ministries as we champion self-reliance among health assistance countries This is all before the transformational investments in global health innovation and self-reliance made via the America First Global Health Strategy. Launched in Sept 2025, we have already signed 31 bilateral compacts worth more than $21 billion in U.S. commitments and country co-investment, and announced historic new innovation initiatives like our partnership with Gilead Sciences to get 3 million people in high-burden countries its new 99.9% effective twice yearly HIV prevention drug Lenacapavir. state.gov/releases/offic…

With all due respect, Elon, if you and all other ultra rich people are just going to give up their position of privilege and wealth and let everyone have "high income" then why aren't you all handing people cash right now already while money still actually has life-changing meaning? May as well, right? Oh, wait...
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@BenjaminDEKR It's also hilarious because if the government is providing high universal income, how's it funded? If people aren't working, income tax dollars will drop. Are we to believe that Elon, Altman, Bezos, etc. now favor more taxation on companies and wealthy owners? LOLOLOLOLOL.

I am genuinely curious what changed so dramatically that Elon went from "inflation and government spending will collapse America" to "government should write endless checks to all Americans and this will create deflation" in, like, 14 months The supposed reason is "AI" but that didn't suddenly emerge in the last year. Yet his views on this have taken a full 180 in that same timeframe. To the point that it sounds like a different person entirely. Still have not seen a coherent explanation.

@jhaskinscabrera I get the "humans aren't meant to be doing this" idea. AI may free up people to do mor fulfilling things. But I haven't heard a good explanation of funding UBI when A)Fewer people will be working & paying taxes and B) Owners & corporations consistently push back against taxation
