John Bolton: "Iran believes it can outlast Trump — that it has more patience than he does because he's so desperate to get the price of oil down" The "maximum pressure" campaign is failing. Iran is calm. The White House is panicking. Again.

@signulll Even in supposedly evolved societies like Burning Man people still form hierarchies and take great pleasure in being above others.

the first time i went to burning man, i was with a girl who spent the afternoon hanging around another camp. she came back absolutely ecstatic. her: “someone finally gave me a playa name!” me: “what is it?” her: “sparkle pony.” she loved it. thought it was perfect. could not stop smiling. i didn’t have the heart to tell her.

The Braves have a championship window right now. Is 3-months of Tarik Skubal enough reason to go all-in? 🤔 #BravesCountry "If 3-months and I know I've got Chris Sale and Tarik Skubal... as my 1-2 in a post-season, which means at minimum, you're seeing them 4 of 7 games. I feel like I can win a world series right now." @JohnMichaelsU @HometeamBleak @Kelly_Crull

@sircalebhammer Historic is the dumbest thing in just about any southern city except maybe Savannah, Charleston, St Augustine and New Orleans. The rest is non-sense cooked up by narcissist who want to save some old pile of junk they knew about when they were younger.

@CoachStroup I would say if the kid as the gumption to call a couch he will be okay no matter what his parents or other adults do.

If a kid has to call a coach for a ride to practice because the adults in his life won't take him, we've already identified the biggest obstacle to that kid's success—and it isn't the kid.

The next player who hits a home run, starts running at contact and just drops his bat, circles the bases at a reasonable pace with his head mostly down and afterward heads to his dugout to maybe high-five his teammates without some choreographed BS and "acts like he's done it before" ... is my new favorite player. Yes, I'm old. But this crap is getting ridiculous.

Wow. Tre Phelps ejected for the celebration on this go ahead home run. Then Wes Johnson ejected for arguing. Wild turn of events in Athens. RIGHT or WRONG call by the umpires?

It’s absurdly obvious that there’s an epidemic in college baseball where players and coaches can’t control their emotions. I like people playing with passion, but it’s WAY beyond putting that spin on it. Why does everyone think it’s ok to act like a jackass???

I’m so tired of seeing college pitchers acting like idiots on the baseball field! Stop yelling at the hitters when you strike them out and you won’t get ejected! If you can’t control your emotions you won’t last long in this game! Notice the shock after he’s ejected! Don’t act like this kids! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @iamrags @artofhitting @hittingguru7 @slider_sinker @SliderDom @low_and_outside @TheRealJHair @DMEASrecruiting @VandyonTigers @mikepiazza31 @SalMarinello @RVGDag @AMBS_Kernan

There are a ton of variables to consider with the job market in the age of AI People’s opinions are largely based on their political tribe. Demoocrats want to believe the sky is falling, and republicans want to believe it’s the Trump Golden Age — both of these are bad takes The reality is that 10-20m jobs are going away in the next decade. from taxi drivers to white-collar middle managers to factory workers. This is obvious. At the same time, millions of jobs are being created, from AI trainers to data center builders — and of course, my favorite, startups! we will have massive job displacement and creation at the same time. The Trump administration will claim these are because of the President's brilliance, while the democrats and America First crowd will say President Trump double-crossed them by not deporting 20 million immigrants and by allowing H1B abuse. It’s a concerning amount of destruction combined with early signs of a boom for select jobs. We will get through it, but it will be chaotic and challenging,

@0xRuzy You really don’t get it? Because some asshat decided we should use the threat of force to steal from people. So… why shouldn’t a business negotiate on that. It’s some of the only real leverage against the jerks who use force to steal from us.

Tucker Carlson to Kevin O'Leary: ...why taxpayers should have to pay for this, if it's a private business and your tenants are some of the richest companies in the world? Kevin: They don't. They don't necessarily have to do that; they just won't win any contracts. It's, it's a... It's a competition, um... Tucker: But why are you getting tax breaks? Is my question. Kevin: Yeah, everybody... You go back, and you say, "What incentives can you give us to invest $15 billion in the first 1.5 gigs?" That's what it takes. I have to go raise $15 billion. That's just the first... Tucker: Okay, but anyone who starts a business, why should taxpayers have to pony up for that? Kevin: They don't. But other states will. Kevin argued that states compete with each other for major investments, offering tax incentives to attract companies willing to spend billions and create jobs. Tucker wasn't buying it. "If it's such a good business, why would you be asking taxpayers to help pay for it without giving them equity in the company? Are you giving taxpayers shares?" Kevin said no. Investors get the shares. Tucker kept pressing: "If you want to start a business, why am I, as a taxpayer, forced to pay for your business?" Kevin's answer was simple: "If you won't give the incentives, another state will."

@PerrySolem Clearly? If they really wanted it then it would be worth building. But personal storage is stupid almost 99% of the time. Better off selling then buying when you need.

@Willfowlerfly if you wanted to store right there, your closest option is an extraspace that filled up quickly (despite how big they built it) where a 10x20 is $500, which is insanely high you might think it's dumb, but people in that area clearly want it

a rare I-1 zoned/industrial tract right in the middle of a cool in-town Atlanta neighborhood just going to be more bland townhomes. Sad! could have been: contractor garages fabrication shop welding shop gas station (much needed in the area) checks cashed place self-storage (much needed in the area) dry cleaning just sickening

We do write personal checks. It's called taxes. We hire people to manage those revenues for us. Some do what the people in California want, some do what the people in Minnesota want, some do what the people in Kentucky want, some do nothing but crybaby all the time to raise money off of it. A couple of weeks ago here along the Ohio River in Kentucky we fired one of the crybabies, who had the peculiar talent of being both exhausting and unnecessary at the same time.

I’m over people whining about teachers and our schedules. I normally don’t do this but most of these post are just following the bash teachers bandwagon. If you like my schedule stop whining and get your credentials in order. Maybe I’ll lose followers for this but I’m over it.
Lucky Teter@TheMagaHulk

Teachers are the whiniest profession in America. They work less than half the year. They're back home by 3:30 PM everyday. They never have to work weekends or holidays. But then they'll whine they aren't paid for their 20 minute commute.
