The western world has about 4 generations or more of not fighting for their existence. Israel has none. We are in the Middle East but have American and European expectations of culture and manners. We have a similar structured democracy as the UK, but 75% of our population has the burden of collective guilt for a single prime minister. We are a bit touchy about our right to exist because we know the difference between a genocidal tyrant who sees honor in death for his cause and an angsty college student screaming abolish the US. We consider emptying our pockets weak and undignified. Allowing conspiracies of our power and cruelty has actually won us battles and deterrence. We have an abundance of flaws but stupidity isn’t one.
