@EdHand89 Doesn't seem a fair point to me. We develop plenty of players, we just don't pay them when they succeed. From big examples like Mookie/Xander, to smaller ones like Gonzales/Refsnyder.
English

This is a fair point. Lots of fans have observed this for a while now.

The front office believed in David Hamilton despite trading him to the Brewers. When he returned to Fenway in April and played well, the FO began to question the coaching staff’s developmental process with young guys: "Why do a lot of players go to other places and get better? Why do other guys come here and get worse?" (via @byJulianMack)
English

@MattLutzPhi If the threshold needed for blue to survive were 99%, would you still pick blue?
English

@ac13alex Appreciate you AC. You coaches didn’t deserve for it to go down like this.
English

@Ace_XIII_ @Aella_Girl I'm saying the original has an arbitrary threshold of 50% must vote blue for blue to survive.
x could be 10%, 50%, 99%, etc.
My point is the choice to vote blue hinges on how likely you find it that x% will actually vote blue, not just which color makes 100% survival possible.
English

@freerobby @Aella_Girl Oh if you’re saying we for sure know 99% of people are voting red then yes I’d vote red but that goes back to what I said before.
You’ve changed the conditions to a point where it’s not even the original scenario.
The whole topic is the origin scenario not this side quest
English

@Ace_XIII_ @Aella_Girl I don't understand the question.
My point about the 99% was that it's not as simple as picking what makes everyone survive -- there is obviously some threshold where you agree that doesn't work -- people just disagree about what the threshold is.
English

@freerobby @Aella_Girl If you wanna change the conditions of the scenario so that picking the same answer can’t be based on the same results/ logic,
Would you pick 51% red for only red pushers to eat shit or would you pick blue 51% blue for everybody having a nice day?
English

@Ace_XIII_ @Aella_Girl Imagine the threshold blue had to hit for blue to survive were 99%. Would you still press blue?
English

@freerobby @Aella_Girl Consider the consequences of 50% red or lower. Wow no one dies. Not even 1%
Yeah I’m picking the: needs less votes for 100% of the population to survival button obviously
English

@Austen If you don’t alter your bet sizes, longer than you’d think. While it’s not the only thing they look for, it’s certainly number 1. If you just bet 50 every hand for example, no matter what, you’d have some time (not indefinite though, consistent winners will be flagged).

@ChrisCotillo The team that won't spend is going to end up with the most expensive AAA team in baseball.

@GMagz_420 To win 92 games, they essentially need to win 4 out of 5 series from here on out.

I want to share some difficult news. I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and I want you to hear it directly from me.
Treatment is starting immediately and will include multiple strategies over the course of about a year. While I will be stepping back from some of my usual activities, I will continue to support SV Angel founders, who I love with a passion.
SV Angel remains unchanged. Topher has made all of our investment decisions for the better part of the last decade, and Ronny joined as Managing Partner in 2024. They bring experience from nearly every major technology cycle in Silicon Valley and are now focused on partnering with founders building the future of AI. SV Angel has a deep, experienced team that remains fully focused on supporting exceptional founders.
With a more focused and balanced schedule, I can prioritize treatments while helping SV Angel founders at inflection points like we always do!
I’ve chosen not to share the specific type of cancer since I don't want speculation about my prognosis. I appreciate your understanding and respect for this.
I am optimistic about my prognosis. I am fortunate to have the best/amazing team of UCSF doctors in San Francisco, and as you know, I never back down from a fight.
Thank you for your support, it means a great deal to me.

For the record, the president of the United States is now simultaneously claiming that he has won the war, is currently winning the war, needs help to win the war, and needs no help to win the war. All to destroy the nuclear program he claims to have already destroyed last year.
