@aakashgupta Truth of the matter is that areas need to be clear cut for grading of roads and building lots. Even when you try and leave trees around the edges of a work area, they often end up dying because the root mat is disturbed or they get blown over in a storm.

Let me explain exactly why every new subdivision in America looks like the top photo, because the math is wild. A mature tree increases a home's value by 7 to 19 percent. On a $400,000 house, that's $28,000 to $76,000. A single shade tree produces the cooling equivalent of ten room-size air conditioners running 20 hours a day. One tree on the west side of a house cuts energy bills by 12 percent within 15 years. The bottom photo is worth more, costs less to live in, and sells faster. This has been documented by the University of Washington, Clemson, Michigan State, and the USDA. The data is not in dispute. Removing those trees saves the builder roughly $5,000 per lot. Concrete trucks need twice the dripline radius of every standing tree. Utility trenches need flat ground. A bulldozer flattens 200 lots in an afternoon. Preserving trees adds weeks and thousands per home. So the developer pockets $5,000 in savings and the buyer eats $50,000 in lost value for the next two decades. The person making the decision and the person paying for it have never been in the same room. The Woodlands, Texas is the proof of what happens when they are. George Mitchell bought 28,000 acres of Houston timberland in 1974 and preserved 28% as permanent green space. He forced McDonald's to build behind the tree canopy. That McDonald's became one of the highest-volume locations in Texas. The first office building, designed to reflect the surrounding forest so you couldn't see it from the street, leased completely. The Woodlands median home price today: $615,000. Katy, a comparable Houston suburb that clear-cut: $375,000. Named #1 community to live in America two years running. Fifty years of data. The trees are worth more than removing them saves. Developers clear-cut anyway because they sell the house once and leave. You live in it for 30 years.

@BeenThereCap Wouldn't those Israeli strikes on the oil facilities in Tehran have something to do with it? Not sure how critical the targets were to supply, but it looked terrible.

Last night WTI crude oil hit $119, up 30% since Friday, when nothing material had happened over the weekend. "Nothing" was the problem; every day without deescalation is bad for oil supply. But it's not *that* bad. Now it's $99. 20-30% yo-yo in a $3 trillion-per-year commodity.

The real deep state is the Vatican, Rothschild family and Chabad Jews. They use the Freemasons and The Knights of Malta as 'fixers'. The City of London, Wall street and central banks as managers. Below the deep state is the shadow government which is comprised of the politicians and senior bureaucrats. Those are the shadow government people. They're not the deep state. They are the best of the servant class. Most of the world leaders are slaves. You are not eligible to be elevated if you're not compromised by blackmail (i.e Jeffery Epstein's role) They worship the black sun.

@BeenThereCap Yes. I don’t see how Carney will turn the country around though. He is certainly more competent, but he still dedicated to the same restrictive policies for real economic development in Canada.

To be fair, Trump is not the only driver, although he is clearly the primary driver. The Liberals replaced their deeply unpopular authoritarian performative-progressive incumbant with a blank-slate obviously-competent technocrat.

This is the single most astounding 2025-YTD chart I know. In less than 3 months, Trump singlehandedly crushed Canada's Conservative Party odds of winning the upcoming national election from 83% to 39%.

I based my strategy to profit from the #uranium cycle on a few key points: - Hard to nail the cycle bottom (but I succeeded!) - Hard to predict the cycle top - Expect multiple 30-70% drawdowns - Two major bull runs with a 70% drop between them before 2030 ...

Yes, global warming worsens the risk. But it's going to be worse yet next year, and the year after that. That makes it MORE urgent, not less, for politicians to do what they can to address the risks (#1-5 above). 6/6

90% of the comments about the LA fires are profoundly dumb. In rapid-fire: The fires actually are the fault of politicians, sort-of. But not because they are Democrats. Republicans would have done the same. (More on that below.) 1/6

You wouldn't call your vacuum cleaner "quality" if it didn't suck up dirt. So why would a stock be "quality" if it doesn't go the direction you want it to. "Quality" is a sales word (to sell something that is garbage) that means nothing to a real stock trader.

They have to have majority sign, although they have no ability as a caucus to get him to resign as leader. The House will delay sitting again as long as possible to get as close to “no leadership race possible” before he hands it over to one of the cronies.
