@pscones2 @don_fender33771 @dekker I think conduct should be professional when it comes to interpersonal relationships. But this isn't that, so why the fuck are you bringing that up?

This isn’t meant to come off as a knock to CE. I’m a Christian - and a basketball player. 90% of the NBA is openly Christian. What I find maddening in all this is Christians online twisting the story into “Ivey got waived because he is a Christian.” That’s just a false statement and you’re pushing drama even further. There are guys that proclaim their faith all over the NBA - it’s a shared faith. There are pre-game Chapel services in EVERY arena where guys come together to worship. There are post-game prayer communities that are visible to fans and cameras. This isn’t an intolerance issue by the NBA. Far from it. The league wants guys to proclaim what they believe. With that; You will be fired in ANY job where you become a workplace nightmare. If you continually disrupt the peace and happiness of your colleagues, you will be held accountable. It’s as simple as that.

@SSconzert @don_fender33771 @dekker Do you think someone who repeatedly asks co-workers, clients, or partner vendors about their sex lives should be protected under the first amendment

@don_fender33771 @dekker Understand fully. I'm stating something altruistic here, that you should not be waived for something as harmless as a statement that contradicts or disagrees with your employer. And I included freedom of speech because that's what it is

@TheCheeseHarvey @RichStapless I guess I don’t even understand what you’re upset about? You don’t want to admit you share Ivey’s views so you’re just making up some hypothetical situation?

@RichStapless I’m not maga and i support Ivey. Had a gay athlete said anything about Christianity being unrighteous or any REAL insult and literally nothing would happen. You know it and so does everybody else.

Jaden Ivey has confessed to being suicidal, attempting suicide in front of his wife and went from that to asking about the sex lives of reporters and telling teammates whether or not they’re “righteous.” This isn’t about a black man having an opinion. It’s about someone undergoing a mental health episode and the MAGA community making him another black face for propaganda because he shared demeaning comments about a group of people. Sooner or later, he will assuredly be a guest on Sean Hannity on Fox News. Because he’s one of the “good ones”. You, sir, have lost the plot.

@sadler_nathan @web8_whisperer @Sam_Vecenie agreed they both have good feel and vision! But different positions, and Wagler can shoot off the bounce while in the NBA KA's shot is too slow to really get off at all unless he's wide open, so they create offense in totally different ways, I'd say

Man, Keaton Wagler was so outstanding tonight. Didn't finish it great early, sure. But man, this was the best defensive game he's played all season, his quick decision-making and passing killed Houston's ball-screen blitzes, his rebounding was huge. What an awesome game.

@KPeezoEddy @tempfadetj1 @AyoimJP @NateDuncanNBA I mean do you think Nate's belief is "Randle and the T-Wolves benefit from this all the time and are bad, unlike SGA who is innocent"? It's a clear example in a late-game high-leverage moment of a common problem the NBA doesn't know how to officiate and needs to fix.

@tempfadetj1 @AyoimJP @NateDuncanNBA Because we watched the game. His interpretation is sort of like seeing the 6th guy who runs into a scrum and throws a punch. Is that guy wrong? Sure. But if you don’t understand the context of the action, then you can’t properly analyze it. You’re missing the bigger picture.

a random pynchon character
One of many things I hate about OBAA discourse is that people reduce it to one aspect they intentionally misinterpret and completely ignore all the funny, wholesome and cool moments. It’s okay to enjoy what is actually in the movie instead of hating it for what isn’t even there.

@simonsarris @adamokane @goblinodds I agree many liberals have a poor theory of mind for conservatives, but virtually every right-winger with any sort of platform or following sees liberals as stupid and/or evil and says so all the time?

@adamokane @goblinodds It's coherent, but can they find the premises? I think the average smart liberal has a poor theory of mind for the average smart conservative, but the reverse is not true. There really is an asymmetry here. Hence all the "evil" talk that is so easily slipped into by one side.

@emilykmay That's a crazy stat! Do you know the source? (To be clear, I'm so glad I was able to take time off after my kids were born, I can't imagine not doing it, and I urge every dad who can to take advantage of this!)

most bonkers statistic I recently learned about paid leave is that if a dad takes it, it lowers his chance of divorce by 25%.  imo it's because you get to begin your parenting dynamic much more equally and actually be a team.

@noself86 @NikkiMcR Meant as respectfully as possible: “the skill that matters was never the production, it was the seeing. that doesn't atrophy, it sharpens” —you are not sharpening, you are atrophying into a machine

i get why that sentence hits hard but i think it assumes the skill lives in the typing. my experience is the opposite, working w/ AI has forced me to think more clearly than i ever did writing solo. the skill that matters was never the production, it was the seeing. that doesn't atrophy, it sharpens

@jachiam0 You live in a region full of hunger and want right now, caused in part by people like you. Are any of the rich brilliant minds there using all that money to fix the hunger and want occurring around you right now? Not remotely. Just vague gesturing at doing supposed future good.

We're entering the phase of AI politics where society will intensely debate whether it is a good idea to build AI at all. Builders need to make the case. The way I see it, AI is our best chance to defeat hunger, want, death, and war. It's a moral imperative to try.

@KirkSeriousFace It was wrong for Lu to do what he did. Expecting Thunder fans to grovel because of something a player did on the court is also stupid.

@brocknshock @baddrawndungeon @jessesingal They did die, it's easily available information that you don't wish to process so you want to pretend everything went to Iraqi Sesame Street. Not a lot more to say if you're not going to grapple with reality

@pscones2 @baddrawndungeon @jessesingal Most USAID money was not going towards feeding hungry people. It was funding NGO salaries, foreign political groups, Palestinian rappers and Iraqi Sesame Street. No one died because we stopped funding this nonsense.

Is the guy who held up a chainsaw to celebrate his demolition of programs that save babies' lives for tiny, tiny amounts of money relative to the U.S. annual budget correct that because someone is childless they lack some basic understanding of human goodness or purpose...?

@brocknshock @baddrawndungeon @jessesingal right, this is exactly what I'm saying. You don't want to use money for this, fine. But you should admit, we WERE using money for this, we stopped, and as a result, a ton of people died
