This morning I went to the post office to mail a package. I began talking to the gentleman who I have always dealt with for years, he asks about my family etc. He knows I was a Trump supporter, and he asked me about it today. I said no, I no longer support President Trump he has betrayed his base and not kept his promises. The gentleman agreed and said he hears it all day every day. Mind you most people who go to the post office are older folks, if Trump has lost them at the numbers, it appears he has, this will be a landslide. The mid-terms are going to be a blow out for Democrats, and it isn't because they are better, they aren't, it's because Republican were handed the ball and they intentionally fumbled it over and over again.

You make great points about different topics: how many taxes there are, how well they're used, whether they are levied fairly. However, OP also made a good point which is that local services are currently paid for via property taxes. The $ has to come from somewhere. IMO, something like a property tax may be the best way to pay for local services vs. alternatives which may have more flaws. In that case, people should be focusing more on the OTHER problems with taxation.

I’m very confused about the number of people who think “property tax” is a sales tax on you home rather than taxes to pay for public services you use every day. “I paid off my home why do i still pay property taxes?!?!?” Oh, did you also stop using the roads and libraries and sidewalks and parks? Not worried about fires anymore?

I’m a Republican. I supported Trump. I raised money for him, I voted for him. I donated $60,000 to his campaign. Trump lied. He rugpulled us all. I didn’t vote for Lindsey Graham / America Second policies. You can disagree with me if you want. It’s your right to be fooled. But if you say I have “TDS” or am a “liberal” you need a new argument. There are millions of conservatives and members of the now torched “broad coalition” just like me. The only ones left supporting him are MAGA always Trumpers who place the man above the policies and our country.

My Dad just passed. He was mid 80s. T1D, Smoked weed daily since his first toke at Woodstock in 1969. Mom is still kicking.

1 beer a day is the problem. Sunlight reacts with everything. The chemicals in your skin and cells from drincking beer react with sunlight and create over 11 known carcinogenic agents. Women that may have dranck a case of beer over their teen years will eventually develope cancers and also have autistic children if they fi manage yo have children. When buying physically active always watch who starts to sweat first. It is the beer drivker. Low stamina and cannot work physically consistently all day.

When people get in their 50s and 60s and up, do you start thinking about how many years you have left? I’m curious

I get what you are saying, but for those of us who will not be retiring for 20-30 years who will never see social security even though we are paying into it to pay the current retirees is about as frustrating as it comes. So excuse the jealousy younger professionals have who will work until they are 70+ and never truly enjoy a well deserved retirement.

Please stop with, 'Social Security was not meant to be your retirement income, it was meant to be a supplement.' It's insulting to tens of millions of people who worked hard and honest their entire lives and rely on Social Security AS their retirement income. So get off your high horse and understand that taxing Social Security when it was ALREADY taxed is HURTING the people it claims to be helping. And, even more plain and more simple, for those of us who like to boil things down, Social Security is a cesspool of fraud. To those who claim it's crazy to want a lump sum payment in the form of a REFUND for every dollar we put into this, take a look at how government protected our 'investment' in ourselves, and then talk to me about CRAZY. Government TOOK our money and misappropriated the funds. SOMETIMES intentionally. ALWAYS without threat of punishment. This is CRIMINAL, period.

My issue is with retirees who take Social Security and don't need it. As you said, it was meant for seniors who had no other livable means, not as a slush fund for the wealthy. It's not a 401K, it's welfare and is off the backs of workers today and those who NEED the funds. Not right.

@GinaSaysSo You weren't paying attention. Social security is one leg of a three legged stool: social security, personal savings, and pension/401k. That's straight out of financial planning guidance in 1985. We were all told.

@GinaSaysSo I hate to break it to you, but SS is not taxed until you receive it. So contrary to your post, it was not "already taxed" when you get it. The fact there is such a lack of financial literacy makes me incredibly sad.

@2Swerdy I changed my healthcare poa / directive to not allow organ donation or any part of me to be donated. I also directed that when death is imminent if I am in the hospital, I am to be taken home with family supervising hospice.

All my homies removed their organ donor status once they realized the state redefined 'brain dead' just to harvest you. Death is now a legal threshold that can be moved by a committee.

I’ve been saying - we need to speak out and tell Trump he’s surrounded by snakes. I’ve been telling you what I knew - not what I thought. She worked with Mercury and Ballard Partners (with Pam Bondi). They represented tons of foreign interests, big pharma, and every other bad group you can think of. I’ve been speaking out to try and help MAGA - not undermine Trump. We need those that are loyal to MAGA to speak out in a unified voice and tell him he is being undermined by snakes. Wiles, Bondi, and many others MUST be fired or MAGA is dead. We need to help others like @catturd2 and @GuntherEagleman to see this and call these crooks out. Midterms are coming and if Trump doesn’t change course he’s going to have a hard left Congress and get impeached… what happens to America then?

New Jersey law generally requires the release of medical records of minors to their parents. Unfortunately because of some limited exceptions to the law, medical providers are not releasing the records of a 12 year old without the child’s written consent. That needs to change

A 12 year old cannot consent to anything without their parent’s guidance and permission. They are also on their parent’s health insurance. 12 year olds cannot drive, they cannot drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, join the military, buy certain behind the counter medications. This is absurd.
