I am not close to level of @shadcn in programming, but I found myself feeling very similarly. I even went to extend of cancellation of all AI subs just to go back to manual building for some time

I’ve been learning pygame this weekend. Reading docs and writing code. Let me tell you, nothing nothing nothing comes close to changing a line and tabbing to see your changes. Slowly seeing your code turn into something. Calling a new function and seeing something appear on the screen… Prompting will never. Not saying we should go back. I won’t. Just realizing how much I loved this.

I’ve been working on this at Linear for the past few months. You can now tell the Linear agent to create and work on an issue, or manually delegate to it yourself. Coding is done within a secure sandbox, which spins up fast. Ask for follow-ups inside of diffs, all without leaving Linear. Lots of improvements to come, let me know what you want to see :)

One thing I've noticed after 4+ years using @linear : The tool is incredible for the team. But the moment a client asks "where are things at?" and you leave Linear entirely. Slack message, email, doc, call. Is that just how it goes or has anyone figured out a better way?

Zed’s heating issues are getting over my head. First, I thought it was just Phpactor, but nah, when I looked deeper. I’ve been monitoring this and can confirm that Zed stays steady under 300 MB of memory consumption if you don’t use AI. The moment you start using AI agents, memory consumption shoots to 2 GB+, and processor and power consumption follow the same pattern. Really frustrating... @zeddotdev
