Pulp Fiction writer Roger Avary on Alex Kurtzman's handling of Star Trek: "Boy has he [expletive] the bed like in a big way. And this latest thing that they’ve made, this Starfleet Academy — now, it’s still ongoing, maybe it rights itself at some point… [Expletive] Alex Kurtzman, man. His company is called Secret Hideout, I think. He’s going to need a secret hideout after destroying Star Trek for this new generation. Starfleet Academy is an abomination. I could not get through three episodes of Discovery. It’s just awful, awful storytelling. Just horrible and they are more interested in the corporate propaganda than with any kind of personal propaganda. Picard was terrible. It was sad, actually. It was just depressing for me." Is he right?

@scafanz_ @JOBhakdi The USA is going to lose the petrodollar, which is a $28Trillion interest free loan that will come due once the world switches to yuan. Hyperinflation will cause the US to lose its military. The world rejoices! The lucrative system Nixon made in 1971 unravelled by Trump in 1 year

There is zero doubt that the White House is in panic mode (for the last 7 days and with increasing intensity). I predicted a quick TACO, and that was the plan all along - but this plan is failing. The costs for Trump and the US are immense, and POTUS is fully aware of it. Does that mean the war will stop soon? I am not sure anymore - but this is a giant exploding train wreck and everyone knows it. It is now up to POTUS to gather the will to make it end. Every day that goes by, the costs rise exponentially. Once it's done, fire everyone who gave bad advice and sever the ties to all forces that pushed for this.

@JOBhakdi What's too complicated to understand? Evil is willing to do terrible things that good will not. The Dark Side is always stronger. It takes more for good to overcome evil. Try to keep up.

Bibi tells us: Be less like Jesus. Be more like Genghis Khan. Be more ruthless, because evil will overcome good. 🤔 Wait... I thought all this was the other way around... I am so confused... If evil is now good, but good is bad, isn't evil then also... bad? Or am I too mathematical here.

@FredLambert Way to project what happened when none of us actually know the real facts. Maybe the car was accelerating too quickly but she should have recognized that and disengaged earlier. It's called Supervised FSD for a reason.

Tesla fans using the “4-second disengagement” as a gotcha are missing the forest for the trees. Yes, the driver was technically in control of the vehicle at the moment of impact. But she was in control because FSD was already failing by driving too fast ahead of this sharp turn — it was heading straight into a concrete barrier at highway speed with no sign of correcting. Everyone who has frequently used FSD or Autopilot and paints this 4-second disengagement as a “gotcha” moment is being disengenous, and that includes Elon Musk. I have tens of thousands of miles on FSD, and I’ve experienced the system coming too fast into a turn at least half a dozen times. We’ve said this before and we’ll keep saying it: the problem with FSD isn’t what happens when the driver is paying attention and the system works. The problem is what happens when the system gives you every reason to trust it, and then suddenly doesn’t work. The driver has to recognize the failure, assess the situation, decide on a correction, and physically execute it, all in less time than the system needs to create the danger. Musk and Tesla’s propagandists can point to the logs all they want. The video shows what actually matters: FSD approaching a standard highway curve at full speed with zero indication it was going to navigate it. That’s the failure. Everything that happened after, including the panicked disengagement, is a consequence of that failure. The framing that this was “manual driving, not FSD” is technically true for the final 4 seconds and deeply dishonest about the full sequence of events. It’s exactly the kind of liability shell game that courts are increasingly rejecting, as that $243 million verdict makes clear. Tesla created the system, sold it as “Full Self-Driving,” and profits from the ambiguity. At some point, it has to own the consequences.

#BREAKING Bondi Beach terrorist Naveed Akram's family live in "constant fear" for their safety and have endured death threats, stalking and intimidation, his lawyer has told a Sydney court while seeking suppression orders over their identities. The Akram family are now attempting to play the victim and are making it all about them. The courts should show Akram the same mercy he showed his victims and their families. Including 10 year old schoolgirl, Matilda. None. #Auspol

I genuinely love @Gfilche but it doesn’t mean I won’t be honest. This makes you selfish not a Luddite. Either you think you’re better than FSD .. which you aren’t or you don’t care about other ppls safety as much as you care about yourself. And don’t give me this BS “I like to drive”. Most of your driving is not “fun driving”. I genuinely look at ppl who don’t use FSD as low IQ ppl these days. I can understand ppl who don’t know about it or haven’t used it or can’t afford a Tesla. Everyone else… you’re showing your intelligence level.
Gali@Gfilche

I know this makes me a Luddite in the @tesla community but I think it’s crazy an AI is 59% of my driving. Literally living in the future ⚡️

I am a Democrat. I served in the Clinton administration. I did not vote for Donald Trump and am highly unlikely to support him or his acolytes in the future. I also have serious disagreements with many of the Trump administration’s domestic and foreign policies. But it is profoundly disturbing that a growing segment of the far left appears to be almost rooting for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranian regime, and other forces fundamentally opposed to the United States and our allies. This seems to reflects a corrosive strain of anti-Americanism, dressed up in postcolonial theory, that risks blinding us to the moral realities of our world and the nature of our adversaries.

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

The SAVE America Act doesn’t “Save” America. And this isn’t about voter ID. This bill requires everyone to re-register to vote in person and your driver’s license, REAL ID, or military ID aren’t even good enough. Imagine all of our seniors who don’t have valid passports and haven’t seen their birth certificates in decades? What about them? How hard will it be for them to register? And how do they get a passport if they can’t find their birth certificates? And what about the cost? If this becomes law, it will disenfranchise many Americans.

The deep rift between America First, MAGA and Neocons is now in full display. @joekent16jan19 resignation claims a misinformation campaign by Israel and the American media to deceive President Trump into believing that Iran was an imminent threat. [ Presented without bias/opinion ] —— Director of National Intelligence National Counterterrorism Center President Trump, After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. I support the values and the foreign policies that you campaigned on in 2016, 2020, 2024, which you enacted in your first term. Until June of 2025, you understood that the wars in the Middle East were a trap that robbed America of the precious lives of our patriots and depleted the wealth and prosperity of our nation. In your first administration, you understood better than any modern President how to decisively apply military power without getting us drawn into never-ending wars. You demonstrated this by killing Qasam Solamani and by defeating ISIS. Early in this administration, high-ranking Israeli officials and influential members of the American media deployed a misinformation campaign that wholly undermined your America First platform and sowed pro-war sentiments to encourage a war with Iran. This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States, and that should you strike now, there was a clear path to a swift victory. This was a lie and is the same tactic the Israelis used to draw us into the disastrous Iraq war that cost our nation the lives of thousands of our best men and women. We cannot make this mistake again. As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times and as a Gold Star husband who lost my beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel, I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives. I pray that you will reflect upon what we are doing in Iran, and who we are doing it for. The time for bold action is now. You can reverse course and chart a new path for our nation, or you can allow us to slip further toward decline and chaos. You hold the cards. It was an honor to serve in your administration and to serve our great nation. [Signature] Joseph Kent Director, National Counterterrorism Center
