If a #1 seed falls 10 points behind any school that runs a polling institute at any point in the game (Siena, Quinnipiac, Marist) they should just be eliminated IMO.

This is sometimes true (in media for example) but in media, it's a product of the alas probably correct analysis that there is no long term. For assets with long term prospects you lose money by gutting them.
