Democrats want someone who can be an on-ramp into voting for democrats; someone who provides a permission structure for people who are not reached by normal political methods. Gentle nudges in our direction: “Hey guys Biden is cool” “Did you see this thing Biden did, that’s pretty dope” “Kamala is cool in my book guys, you should vote for her” He explicitly does not do that, and did not do that when it could’ve helped. Hasan’s relationship and view of the party rests in a permanent negative state of constant criticism. Also he doesn’t like America and doesn’t even try to pretend to. Add all that up and he simply isn’t what we’re looking for and it’s way too late for him to try to become that. He’s already failed several times over. The answer is no.

Given that Hasan Piker will (as he demonstrated in 2024) urge his audience not to vote for a Democrat whose politics he doesn't find sufficiently pure, I think regarding him as an ally is foolhardy to say the least.

As a Jew I have this quaint belief that the Democratic Party should act as a bulwark against rising anti-Semitism, not willingly accept it into its midst (as the GOP has done for years). The main takeaway here is that Hasan Piker believes the Cuban regime, however repressive it may be, is not to blame for Cuba's suffering. Rather it is the United States who has run Cuba into the ground. The fact that anyone takes Piker seriously is a joke.
