#3D_Additive_Printing_Course conducted by BEG & Centre Roorkee at IIT Roorkee. 43 jawans & Junior Commissioned Officers of the Indian Army, under the aegis of BEG & Centre Roorkee, underwent a six weeks course in Additive Manufacturing & 3D Modelling at IIT Roorkee. 🇮🇳 #ThisDayThatYear – 28 April 1958 The Bengal Sappers take immense pride in one of their finest officers, Maj Narendra Dhar (Nandu) Jayal , a pioneer of mountaineering in India and a symbol of courage, leadership, and excellence.He achieved distinction by scaling major peaks like Mt Kamet (height 25,446 feet in Uttarakhand, 3rd highest mountain in India), Mt Abi Gamin ( height 24,131 feet in Uttarakhand) and Mt Trishul (23,360 feet in Uttarakhand) setting high standards in Indian mountaineering. The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was established at Darjeeling in 1954, where Maj Nandu Jayal was appointed as its First Principal shaping future generations of mountaineers. He made the supreme sacrifice during an expedition to Mt Cho-Oyu (26,866 feet at Nepal-China Border) on 28 April 1958 leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire soldiers and adventurers alike.In spirit and in service, his courage lives on guiding all who follow his path. As part of an outreach initiative by Bombay Engineer Group & Centre, the twenty newly commissioned Young officers visited ECHS, Zila Sainik Board, and Sainik School Satara, engaging with Veer Naris, veterans, and Battle & Physical casualties—understanding their concerns, sharing welfare measures, and strengthening the bond with the veteran community. Young Officers paid homage to Shaheed Col Santosh Y Mahadik at Satara, honouring his enduring legacy of courage and supreme sacrifice.
