This only looks outrageous to people who haven’t played sports. Are there other approaches to coaching that also work? Yes. But I’m not upset by this approach, based on what she’s actually saying to her.

The football kid learned how to be a teammate to 50+ kids and developed strength and athleticism we always need at the high school level.

Multi-sport kids can be just as committed but due to commitments to multiple sports they may not be as skilled in a certain sport. Does not mean less committed.

I like Garland, not sure I love the idea of trading him for Harden, but the Cavs can’t keep running the exact same plan and expect different results come April.
